This is the best tutorial for capturing in-game video that I’ve seen. I don’t really need video though, I’d just be happy with the ability to capture one-eye snapshots at the press of a button. Since flight sims live and die by the screenshots that people post online, I’m kind of surprised that no one has created a “camera” or “snap-shot” app. It would be great if I could turn my head, see something cool, and press a yoke button to grab a snapshot. If I had any idea how to program, I would try to create this. I’m not surprised that Microsoft didn’t build this kind of feature in, because the didn’t even see the value of incorporating playback ability, even though they themselves have a great need for it. Nothing “sells” the sim better than beautiful screenshots and videos. I’m surprised that MS doesn’t recognize this. Thanks again for this great content!
You could actually take screenshots on the fly (No pun intended) in VR. On my Odyssey HMD+, I use the actual VR Controller. It's definitely a bit clumsy as you have to position your hand away from in between your headset and your PC. If it's in the way, I get the dreaded 'Annoying White Dot.'
Definitely not specific to the Reverb. Any headset that connects to your PC can use this method. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Great tutorial!
There is also the new flightrecorder app as an option, you can then play it back in a normal resolution and change views as needed, but would have to voice in the audio annotations after the fact.
Is there a way to output without the Binocular Mask? And what is the output resolution? VR resolution is high.. Usually VR180 Cameras output a 5.7k video file which is around 5760x2880.. In your video demo, you’re taking a 3D VR180 video, and turning it into a standard 2D video.. Just make a 3D VR180 video, and upload it to RU-vid for those of us that have a VR Headset..
Ahhh. Makes sense now. I use Vegas. I’ll have to figure out how to crop. That’s why I love AMS2 and a few other titles. I can mirror my action in 2d and get solid footage.
@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS only this one. I started on DCS, a few older racing titles, and Arma 2 back in the day. But at the time it was an even more niche hobby than it is now. Firewill used a few of my videos when I first started.
I would like to use the G2 has a training tool and project the flying into my desktop screen in real time so I can see what is my student doing , any suggestions how to do it and without killing my RTX 3080?
@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS thank you, very excited about what I experienced last night for the first time... Absolutely stunning with a RTX 3080, it runs so smooth...
No and double no. Thats too much of work just to make a simple video. Should be built in ingame program. You will loose a lot fps when recording msfs2002 with other programs. That just will not be useful. Dislike.
