@@WayneWebbFilms Like you mentioned in the video, my only worry is the refresh rate because I’m a PC gamer but also to use this for work.

It might be worth seeing what other monitors are available in the price range and if they have these things sorted out already. You may end up paying more getting a matte screen protector, but that certainly would be a way to help with the shine.

It will take the power from the laptop to run the monitor. I tried it with my Samsung A90 after doing the video and that's what happened.

Well that's quite cool, I just tried and was able to connect my Samsung A90 via USB C to the monitor and it power off the phone. I also tested it with a powerbank and that worked as well as you would expect. Hope this helps

@@WayneWebbFilms it worked with the A90 series? Do u know if A71 works too? I just cancelled the order because it says the A series cant actaully work with monitor or it doesnt support hdmi...

Tbh I couldn't say whether it would work with the A71, but definitely works with my A90...maybe order an A90 :) I did download the app Desktop Hub which turned the screen into a controller for the desktop experience you when attach it to the monitor. I was really impressed.

Does your phone support usb type c? I have a Samsung A90 and had to download Desktop Hub fromthe Play store, you'd need to check if there is a Xiomi equivalent

Is this the first time you have used the monitor? how are you powering the monitor, through a phone charger or PC etc? there is a button above the rocker on the left hand side, have you tried that? what device is the monitor plugged into and is that turned on?

@@WayneWebbFilms hanks for the quick reply! It is not the first time I have used it. At first the hdmi worked, but the signal was failing and I had to move the cable. It has not detected the signal for a few days. I think it is a problem with the HDMI port because I have tried on different computers and it does not work either, I have also changed the HDMI cable. For USB c it has never worked for me, it shows no signal. The devices that I have tested are a PC and a xiaomi mobile. All the devices is turning on I'm powering the screen through the PC with the cables that came with the screen. When did the hdmi work if I could change the brightness and volume. But when no signal appears on the screen, I can't access the menu in osd status. Thank you so much!

I'd try different type c ports and a new cable to see if that works

Good question, I cannot answer if it will work or not because I don't own a Switch, but I do know the cables wouldn't be long or flexible enough for you to have a comfortable experience without using the Dock. You could obviously try it from a technical point of view and then purchase an aftermarket cable if necessary. Hope this helps.

It was usable but the laatste firmware update prevents the screen transmission through the usb c cable. So you need an adapter or dock via hdmi to get video.

Sorry for the delay in replying. The short answer is I don't know. There are usb c ports so it is possible that you could plug in a usb stick.

I think it would be a good option. It worked well with the Xbox one. That said, I have been lucky enough to find a G-Story GST-156 which is 1080p 165hz and is absolutely amazing - review to come in a few weeks.

Just had a quick Google and it's thinner, lighter but still has a load of screen glare and same sort of specs. I suppose it depends on the cost vs say this one. Now I'm not suggesting that the MSI is the best bang for buck but it has been a good first step into portable monitors for me. The G-Story is the leap into portable monitors and I'm not sure what I'd class the Asus XG17 as...

Hi, unfortunately this doesn't contain a battery but is powered by USB. So, you can plug it into a phone charger, xbox, PlayStation or your PC and it runs well. Tbf I even powered it off my phone which was surprising and a good experience although that was only to have a quick play.

@@WayneWebbFilms thank for you for the very quick reply! Yeah its interesting but when I click on source it says HDMI, USB c 1, usb c 2 but plugging in a USB c to hdmi adapter doesn't yield a picture and it automatically goes to hdmi

I only had the monitor for a short time and only used hdmi so it could be worth having a Google to see if anyone else has found a solution. How are you finding the monitor generally, happy with your purchase?

@@WayneWebbFilms the only thing I can find on Google is connecting a device like phone via USB c on the bottom to hdmi on a monitor . So it is just baffling why the USB c 1 and 2 are listed as input devices on the UI of this monitor.. The device has served half of its job so far. I'm mainly using it to run as my 3rd monitor to show AMD software performance charts but also wanted to hook up to switch as switch looks way better the smaller the screen is... Very ugly on anything over 30 inches. I am close to sending it back to be honest.

Yes, you just need a charger plug ie from a mobile phone

Hi Jessica, this is a great monitor to use with the Xbox. In the video, I tested it with the Xbox One X and was able to power it by the console as well. In theory he could go onto RU-vid via the app on the Xbox. Hope this helps.
