Those pads on the center three memory chips is a massive heat insulator. Much better to leave off to not destroy the memory. This was such good luck for the customer. The fact you could find that capacitor when those mosfets were showing short on the other side. I don't think your volt ohm meter is good enough to show exactly where the short was. Good job.
