I think I might be in the same boat as you. Trump was my second most unstomachable candidate out of ALL OF THEM, regardless of party. But, he managed to beat out the first most insufferable candidate, and after that I came to view him a lot more favorably.
And how many outright lies they had to invent to try making him look bad, it's like they couldn't find anything realistic to criticize (and they weren't strong enough as people to admit that they were wrong). One of the incidents that absolutely sold me on President Trump and made me despise democrats and the press was that islamic terror attack in NYC that targeted the Marine Corps run. Reality: 3 trash cans exploded, timed to exactly when there would have been a lot of people around (except weather delayed the race). Donald Trump (about 4 hours after): "There were 3 bombs that appear to have gone off in New York." The press (in response to Donald Trump): "How dare you! You're inciting a panic. For all you know these 3 trashcans could have exploded and injured 22 people for some other reason!" (Which I would have actually believed, if they were gas lines that exploded or something. There is no reason that 3 trash cans explode except terrorists though.) democrat Mayor Blasio (24 hours after the explosions): "Well okay, these were bombs. Good news though everybody, we don't think this was 'international' terrorism!" WTF? How is Donald Trump "unhinged" for stating the obvious, yet democrats are allowed to speculate about motives, and pretend that somehow this was "okay" because the islamic terrorist was a local? What other Presidential Candidate was HOUNDED so much by the press for BEING RIGHT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Trump could be doing us a great disservice. Trump hasn't been doing what he could so far, we're still slaves to the Federal Reserve and socialist programs and he's not trying to stop any of that. He's propped the economy up based on nothing but businesses being able to hire more employees but companies are still continuing to build outside the country and when the economy collapses the left will point at capitalism being the cause because they don't realize that America is only about 15% capitalist anymore. This will give socialist candidates in the future a very good chance of winning and more American's will begin to support socialism. I'm afraid Trump may be leading us into a trap if he doesn't put an end to and fix the socialism in America and so far I haven't seen him stand up to the Federal Reserve, bring back huge corporations back to the states, or clean up these programs that are destroying America. He's not making the major and risky changes we need to see because without taking risk we'll never get America back.
