I bought this jacket trying to find something that was waterproof and would vent good in the heat. This MSR Xplorer ADV Jacket hits the mark! I was in a little rain in the jacket and it was perfect (only about 10 minutes). The beast part of this jacket was how well it "vented". The airflow through the jacket was on a different level than most. The airflow was amazing for a jacket that is also waterproof.
The cost is $419.99 (plus tax). A very fair price for the benefits of a "rain" jacket that can vent very well in the heat. Super jacket!
