There are dozens of accents within the continent of Asia. To term something as “Asian accent” Is plain ignorant. Within China itself, the main languages - Mandarin and Cantonese - have very different accents.
I am Japanese and his "Asian" accent is actually an imitation of a Japanese accent (Chinese Korean etc sound different). I find it hilarious. Anyone that is hurt by silly jokes and impressions that have no malice behind them are big babies.
It's so obviously Japanese and obviously comedy because he knows he's applying it to the completely wrong race. I'm glad you find it hilarious because I do too. And I wish everyone did!

@Bonochi Bear How do you guys categorize different asian peoples? Just wondering because i know Japanese are genetically close to Korean yet both consider Chinese to be different. Then you have differences like north/south Indian, Mongolian, Malaysian, Philippino, Maori, Polynesian, etc. Actually, do you guys even consider the islanders asian?

Part of the problem with apologizing these days (even beyond comedy) is that you effectively end up apologizing for how someone else understood what you said, even if it's far from what you meant. So if there's a profound difference between those two things, what good does an apology do? You're actually just allowing them to double down on their version of events. If someone is just going to make the worst possible inference of you regardless, why bother trying to meet them in the middle?
And now he hosted SNL… Lorne knew he was funny and didn’t want to fire him. But the network bigwigs and managers were at the apex of victim-culture. Glad that bs is slowly moving into the rear view mirror.

I'm so saddened that I never listened to Matt and Shanes podcast. Tokyo partners is my favorite bit. I'm so glad they have the balls to do the comedy us guys do at home around each but to millions of people. 99% of us sit in silent resentment of the woke movement.
No need to feel bad if someone doesn't like you, and makes sure you know that. That is the gift of an enemy. If you didn't go out of your way to make it, you can toy with it until it stops being fun without needing to experience guilt.

A politician isn't like some sort of psychic who can project thoughts into your head they make lots of moves in advance so that you don't have options and you have to go with them. A comedian is like doing mind control on you he's making sounds out of his mouth and forcing you to involuntarily make sounds and contract your core. It's way deeper than being a politician
