Super helpful video! Was the wood shelf/ dresser at the bottom of your closet in your room? Did you rent them? I'll be in Wilson in the Fall and would like to have the same setup.
Can you please tell me where you purchased the hammock and how you installed it? Im living in south hubbard this fall and i think the hammock idea is so cool!
The hammock is just an ENO hammock, you can get them online or at Moosejaw. We tied the straps around the "steps" of our lofted beds. It takes a bit of messing around to get it to hang nicely, but it will if you put sometime into it! DO NOT hang it between the beds, (one end of the hammock tied to one bed and the other side tied to the the bed) otherwise when you sit down in the hammock the far end of the two beds will lift off the floor and start to fall in towards you! Be safe while dorm hammocking!
Some residence halls have suite style bathrooms, which is what is shown here, while others have community bathrooms. The suite style bathroom is connected to your room. You share it with your neighbors and are responsible for cleaning it! Although the community bathrooms are shared by everyone on the floor, they are cleaned daily, which is a positive! In Hubbard specifically, all bathrooms are suite style.
hi Jessica! I'm literally going to msu in 12 weeks and I'm gonna be living in the south neighborhood and in Wilson's hall. I was just wondering if you could give me any info on that area and dorm hall.
Hi Jessica! I'm from Thailand and I will be moving to MSU this fall. In fact I'll also be in North Hubbard's 10th floor. I'm pretty dang tall for a girl, 5ft 11in to be exact. I can't really tell how tall you and your roommate are from the vlog but I was wondering if you could help me decide if I should loft my bed or not. Like, if I do, will I hit my head on the ceiling every time I sit on my bed, or hit my head every time I try to get to the fridge if I put it under the loft? I know you said you don't hit your head on the ceiling, but again, I just don't know how my height may or may not be a factor. Thank you in advance! Mei P.S. Sorry for the long comment! ^.^
Hi Mei! My roommate is a short, only 5'1, but I'm a little taller at 5'7! If I were you I would loft your bed just to have more floor space. You will have to be careful about not hitting it on the ceiling, but after a week it becomes second nature. If you do loft your bed, you will have to duck a little bit to get under it, but it isn't as big of an inconvenience as you would think! The beds are very easy to loft and un-loft I you decide to switch it up. Best of luck!!
Jessica Mijal thank you so much! I've been trying to ask around about this for a while and no one could really help much. I'm looking forward to being your neighbor soon hahaha!
