Even with structure, football is more tuned towards physical ability than the mental aspect. Yes, mentality is a key role but it is undershadowed and I think it's lost it's true mental component

I don't see how football is such a popular sport. The entire aspect of skill surrounding the game is so barbaric and chaotic. Having played a more intelligent game like baseball for 17 years with 4 years of college experience I find it hard to like this sport purely because im used to having more mental structure and repetition and focus than other sports. Yes, football requires more physical attributes than baseball but im just simply looking to see why it's popular
Are you implying that baseball takes some kind of heightened intelligence to play? All you do is hit a ball with a bat 3/10 times and you're considered good. Football takes so much more mental capacity in skills positions like QB and wide receiver. Or you could play Lacrosse which takes mental and physical play much higher than baseball
