The MSX version of Salamander has three extra weapons that are rather obscure: Twin Laser, Triple Laser and Arming Ball; mostly because they can only be obtained in union mode (green ship) when playing dualplay. However with the help of some cheats and BlueMSX, we are finally able to see the weapons in action.
For achieving it, I cheated with invencibility and also found that at memory address E631 we can find the special weapons timer, that affect the union mode as well. With BlueMSX trainer I forced the value to never go down, effectively making union mode last forever... until I got hit by something, regardless of invencibility.
Finally, you will be able to see Arming Ball in action! It is located at Ripple slot and it is a very interesting weapon: it takes the place of missiles, it is more powerful than them, you can direct the shot to the eight directions of the ship movement and the balls bounce in the walls. It's a pity we were not able to enjoy this weapon in the game normal play. Also, you will notice that after union mode ends I keep the Arming Ball; I don't know whatever this is a bug or a feature :)
Note: For some reason, the green ship sprite is not displaying correctly in Zot and Eioenus.
