Your video so quickly glosses over tension it's almost useless for the beginner. It narrates as if the viewer knows stitching already, when someone new to embroidery watching this most probably hasn't a clue. In particular, your bobbin tension advice is confusing, as a beginner may think that after watching this that they need to adjust it for each thread. As that's not the case and one adjustment will affect all the bottom tensions for each needle. I would suggest taking this video down and making another one that explains it properly.

Good day May you please assist me with my Ricoma RCM-1501 TC 7S, the bobbin thread doesn't get picked up when I embroid and the top thread becomes extremely loose. I have tried tension adjustment both on top and for the bobbin without success. I also cleaned my bobbin case to no avail. I don't know what else to do. May you please assist? Looking forward to receiving the assistance

It could be a variety of different things. For example, 1. If it is just one needle, it is most likely an upper thread tension issue and you should adjust the tension for just that one needle. 2. If it is all your needles, it is most likely a bobbin tension issue and you should click on the link below for the article "How to Fix Bobbin Thread Tension". 3. Check that the threading is correct. Make sure there is no excess looping around the tension knobs or tangles in your thread. If there are, re-thread your needle. ricoma.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408676078355

I really don't understand this video:"if top tension is too loose,and bobbin tension is too tight,tight the knob clock wise ",it doesn't make sense,how top tension is too loose and bobbin tension is to tight show the "I "test results ?It's better to show when the I test columns got more bobbin color in the back,is the top tension too loose or tight?
@ricomatv
@ricomatv 6 лет назад
Great question. You can tell if your top tension is too loose if there is more top thread showing than bobbin thread. You can tell if your bobbin tension is too loose if there is more bobbin thread showing than top thread. The ideal tension should be three equal parts. 1/3 top thread on each side and 1/3 bobbin thread down the middle. So to answer your question: When the column has more bobbin in the back, that means that bobbin tension is too loose. So if the bobbin tension is too loose, then the top tension would be too tight because you will notice the top thread would be very thin on the column, which means it's too tight. Both need to be just the right amount. If this were your exact scenario, you can loosen the tension knob of the needle that has very little top thread showing and that will make the top thread show more and even out your tension. We will post a video on how to interpret the "I" test in the coming weeks!

Clear the error by pressing ESC and turn the red color change knob behind the head until it shows a needle number on the screen instead of 0
