Let me rise to correct both of you, in love. This is Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA, where Bishop C. V. Russell is pastor! As a proud native of Hampton Roads, VA I had to make sure that got corrected. And Mt. Carmal is a powerhouse in the midst of about four cities of powerhouses in SouthEastern Virginia.

But that should be EVERYBODY, not just COGIC! See back in the old skool, they saints actually talked about LIVING the life! Now, folks living double lives...Lord, help your people! When you are santified, you are set apart for God's purpose!

She was going by how things used to be....back in the day, the Baptist did not praise God like they used too...I know because I was brought up Baptist. Pentecostal was always known for shouting and dancing.She was just trying to hype them up...she knows that Baptist praise God and it is different now. And this church is Southern Baptist more along the lines of Pentecostal
Yes!! I stand in agreement with you on this one!! Cause I'm Baptist, and Dorinda will be coming to our church next year!! So we are really shifting and expecting! I've been letting Dr. Cole know!!
Lets just remember that "holiness" is a way of life and no denomination has a monopoly on the Holy Ghost!!! I have been to some COGIC and "holiness" churches that did not have people just shoutin and bouncing off da walls either!! I have been Baptist all my life and we have always given God the praise as well as other churches that we fellowship with. It's not about a shout if yo life is not lining up wit yo praise!! It's not our denomination but the way we live our lives that makes us "holy"!!!
The Lord works in every denomination that will let him in. Honey they was praising God for the hard times and the good time and the blessing in the future. Thats the kind of praise Im talking about.
Yea I'm really praying for our church. God is shifting us, but some folks don't want to change!! I'm working on getting Dr. Cole to speak at our church.
We just need to have all denominations gather together in one place and get on one accord and I guarantee that God will move all over the building . It is not about what denomination , It is all about knowing that we all serve a God who sits high and looks low and loves us all the same . His mercy is renewed daily and and his grace is never ending .So no matter "how " you serve just make sure you are serving the right "Him" and that is God Almighty .. O what a revelation Thank God for the blood of Jesus !
I understand where you are coming from. Dorinda has preached at a plethora of Baptist churches down throughout the years. I attend a Baptist church now, and back in the day,our church was DEAD!! It was silent. So many Baptist churches have evolved!! Some Baptist churches are still frozen, but God is shifting the Baptist churches!! AMEN?!
So true!! These people who are BAPTIST know what DCC was talking about. That's why she said it cause she's in a BAPTIST church and she knew they would agree!! But they showed how that sterotype is WRONG!! PRAISE HIM YALL!!
@flyingphoneix Yes back in the day, you are correct, but COGIC still came out of the Baptist church. They still have many things in their service that are just like the Baptist, and that's what shocked me. The protocol, the bendediction, etc...I also think just at that time they didn't receive, but the Holy Spirit is available for EVERYONE. God shall pour out his spirit on ALL flesh.
sometimes you just gotta take that moment out of everything and praise him and then there are other times you have to shut it down and bring forth what needs to be brought forth so you can get what you praised him for in the begining!
I say the same thing Dornida. I was a baptist state youth convention a couple weeks ago and I tell you them baptist were running, dancing, and shouting all over that hotel ballroom. I thought I was at AIM

Yea we do have an allotted time and I just pray for our church!! But see we come on the radio broadcast and my Pastor wants the sermon to get on the air. But I feel like move the program out of the way!! When we have guest speakers they can do their own thing! God is shifting our church!!
look i have been in some baptist , methadist , and luthern church and still bumped just as much as a cogic. God said he shall pour his spirit upon all flesh.
I love to watch Flemming just stand back and watch in AWE when Dorinda is preaching!! My Pastor is the same way, when a DYNAMIC preacher is preaching, he just stands up and smiles!! He gleams!!! LOOL! He starts jumping and stuff!! He loves it!!

I understand, but Dorinda is speaking from back in the day!! I can't stress that enough. We know that not all Baptist churches are dead, but back in the early-mid 1900's, there was none of this. I attend a Baptist church now, but was also raised Pentecostal, so I appreciate both denominations. Our Baptist church is shifting and God is working with us. I know about 15 years ago, our church was not like this, but God has shifted us! I bless God.
