I climbed and summited Kili in 2008. Overnighted on top at Crater Camp and the glacier is still there, eleven years afterwards. The top was fully covered in snow and looks totally different.
These are some beautiful beautiful shots. I knew the view was stunning when standing at the summit, but looking at the way up from these shots is unbelievable.
There is a lot less ice and snow on and around the summit these days. I climbed and reached the summit on 15 March 1985, with the Royal Air Force “Roof of Africa” expedition. What an amazing experience. This short video brought back all those happy memories, thank you.

The first piece music was ok - it had a bit of a Toumas Holopainen sound to it. Not sure about the appropriatness of the 2nd piece of music though. Something by Grieg or Philip Glass would surely have been better.
yes ist is a pity.... We all must be sorry for the clima change... and Our Mountain, yes... in time of my Grandfather the *Kili-* was for a certain time the highest mountain also of the German Rich ;-) .... Pardon for my words ;-) ... but sometimes I am happy to can buy in a shop in Germany Coffee from the hills area around the *Kili* .... fanstastic aroma..... fully taste ... ...
