Winner of 'Grand Prize' and 'Best Mountaineering Film' award at IMF Mountain Film Festival, 2019.
Papsura, the peak of evil, is a formidable peak in East Tosh Glacier of Indian Himalaya. Due to its long and dangerous approach, it has rarely been attempted and climbed in past few decades. The duo of Bharat Bhushan & Prerna Dangi set out to climb a new route on the peak in alpine style. This is the story of their grit, heart and some narrow escapes.
The expedition & film was sponsored by Mishmi Takin and produced by Upslope Productions (upslope.in).

Amazing. Very few people try this part of Himalaya. I remember looking at both Dharamsura and Papsura in June 2019 from the top of Duhangan Col. One wouldn't find words to describe the beauty of this region. I am jealous of you guys and at the same time I am proud of you guys. Keep climbing. I understood as a climber that as long as the mountain does not open the summit gate we cannot touch the top. It is the mountain call. Of course she will never move away. She always give a second chance, so that we can go back to reach the skies much prepared. All the best for your future endeavours --Venkata S Bhojanapalli Author of the Book Unfailing.

I love that saying 'getting up is optional getting down is mandatory'. A motto for all mountaineers (if you want your life & limbs that is!). Another one being 'the summit is a bonus, the journey is really important'. After all the summit is just a fleeting moment. Most of the time you're on the way there or back.

your climb reminded me of my advance course as Papsura was our assignment in late eighties, and since that moment it became part of my life.. great applause to your epic climb and your narration which only climber can utter from within, and cinematography which itself is a poetry.. keep climbing, god be with you.. paul painter

I really enjoyed watching the climbers. They took the mountain seriously but not so much themselves. Which I liked. I'm sick of summit fevered pretentious climbers. I love people who love the climb.

Manikaran, Kasol, Tosh, Sara umga pass ....that must be the route? Only two of you? I didn't see you guys getting roped up while crossing crevasses.. Anyway keep up the good josh..it's way harder to take on a civil expedition when compared to army people. You are all on your own, no support, no satellite phones, no backup..true date it is...Love

Thank You Mishmi and Upslope for making this video. I'm going to see if 'Impossible' is on RU-vid. I've been thinking about how I use topo map's around Southeastern Minnesota to find my way around trout streams and ridges...some very beautiful ridges. I'm wondering how good a topo map work's in the Himalayas for choosing routes? I suspect not good, because of the always moving landscape. It seems, line-of-sight is most important in choosing a route.
