FLAVA OF THE YEAR 2023 NOVEMBER 17 & 18 LOS ANGELES, CA 1VS 1 POPPING TOP 32 JUDGES BOOGALOO SAM NO BONE TYRONE BIONIC MAN DJ ROXSWIFT HOST DEVIOUS THE GR818ERS
I'm a b boy, not a popper, so I have a completely unbiased opinion here. I have seen MT pops name this year with lots of hype, causing me to watch a hand full of battles that exceeded my expectations to be honest. This is the first I see of Jordan. I believe this battle was close, but Jordan's round seemed to loaded with moves or sets from start to finish, and MT was at a disadvantage by going first here, and underestimating how hard he needed to come, being that it's a one round battle. I do think if the battle was two rounds, we would have seen MT go off.
Yea I have to say one thing here. I hate popping judging. In the past people have said MT isn't hitting enough and he's lost battles literally because they say he was hitting enough. Then you come here and Jordan doesn't hit that much and isn't penalized. I've spent comments defending these type of things saying you don't have to hit on beat every count, but was constantly hit with opposition. Dokyun would always get screwed in judging because of that, and that was the reasoning. I'm all for Jordan's style, and I think a second round should have happened, but I get it. What I cannot stand is how absurdly subjective judging can be. It is the lack of consistency in any realm of judging that is irritating. For example with poppers themselves, I'm a big greenteck fan too, but I find it odd how he called out MT for basically doing "sets" instead of dancing, and that jaygee should have won, but greenteck does the same powermoves in every single contest. The hypocrisy in popping is blinding these days. Popping judging is laughable. I was watching battles and Nelson voted almost 100% for any french dancer, and 1 tie when it was clear they all lost. Like look at sonya vs. ness or my pop vs popping c recently. The standard of judging is starting to ruin popping battles/contests. Any french judge will almost always vote for their crew/guy.
I agree with everything said except wwith greenteck. I will say that he does a lot of power moves and the same advanced ground work but in his case he has wayyyyy more battles where he has done moves that are completely complicated and innovative even if he does a move he has done before or a move someone else has done he will at least put a spin on it while still flowing through his rounds with the same energy and technique. Yes, a lot of dancers do sets and then make them work in battle depending on music but there are a few poppers that do not do sets but try to level up. It’s a matter of history what we see now bc of competition, staying relevant or making 💴 or classes is continuous battles so it leaves not much room for crazy improvement
i think the french made it part of them, like this is how we do it, to vote for their fellows, and i think their so obvious with it that it became acceptable.
This was really close and tie breaker round was necessary 😕 no doubt Jordan round was awesome bt so does mtpop round was 🔥 I think it's unfair for mtpop and Jordan to decide in one round ! Let them give one more round !
MT Was saying that he wasn't feeling well that day, and it def felt like one of his weaker rounds. But hes also going up against Jordan who's known for his insane concepts and balance. These two are also extremely good friends for a very long time so they take a lot of inspiration from each other. I think Jordan took this one cause Jordan matched MT pop with his creativity but on top of that, was more dynamic with his movement. Both of theyre Pops arent their strong suit but i think MT had a bit of a stronger pop. But honestly Being as dynamic as Jordan that round covers that. I can see why people might think MT won but imo Jordan took it.
@@rattleandrole you listened to Greentek's BS on MTpop. Everyone choreographs/prepares their moves to popular songs. MTPop was saving his fresh moves for the later stages and in this early battle he was not impressive. While Jordan was quite fresh.
@@chavoloco91 you the only one talking about nuts the whole comment section boy, maybe you the one who should get jordan' s nuts out of your mouth 😂😂😂😂
MT pop's 1st round, never uses his head. That's what jordan took advantage of, his head dynamic were insane, no brainer, jordan easy win. Greenteck was right
MT pop needs to be more consistent if he wants to be compared to the best, he keeps losing at round 32. I have never seen Greenteck, Hoan or Kite lose this early in a tournament.
This round from Jordan would’ve cooked just about anybody honestly. These “Contests” are very situational with who the judges and what specific genre of music favors the dancers competing
MT is still very young and has a long career ahead of him. He’s allowed to lose. We all are. Especially in a contest where the entire top 32 could have been a final bracket. They also paired the brackets up to make it interesting this is tough matchup for MT, Jordan speaks the same language but goes deeper conceptually. MT is cleaner, more defined, and electric…but the conversation seemed to be concepts and details so Jordan took this one.
