Well, these are multicolored. The signs these are competing against are the Luminator Spectrums, and the Axion RGB signs. The Spectrums ended up giving the agency way too many problems, such as the signs malfunctioning or not showing the right color. There are a few buses that have more than 1 color on the sign, others with signs all kinds of screwed up.
I'm not feeling that 🚌. It may have that Wi-Fi, but I received no connection and the AT went too fast. I don't like the 3-button transmission. They'll need to do better than that.
School buses I'm sure cost less than transit buses, but are stronger than transit buses of today. School buses can go over bumps and some potholes over and over again without coming apart easily, unlike transit buses that start to fall apart within a month.
Afra Riley school buses don't run 24/7 like our transit buses do. Also, some manufacturers are incorporating fiberglass materials into school buses, the same material that was used in some of our newer buses.
Afra Riley kinda doubt it, especially with how much of the school bus manufacturers tend to cheap out on materials. School buses have always had short life spans. The newest ones have a life span that equals to our buses from 2009-2010, which is 12 years. Our newest ones outlast that by 8-10 years.
+BramptonTransitFan84 - I actually disagree. They have more power than an Allison B400R set to economy mode, which is what most agencies are doing to their local buses. Our 2014-2015 XD40s are trash because of that coupled with pretty bad ride quality.
ShaneAkACaitSith810 huh. Welp I guess the new gen Allison is best left in a Nova from what I've experienced. in Brampton we got a fair amount of 2014-2016 LFS's with Allison that outperform our ZF XD40's in any condition, mainly the takeoff
It really depends on how the transmissions are set. The takeoff is fine and all, but long range power is almost the same between the two. If those LFSs are still in Performance Mode, they'll be runners. If they're in Economy mode with modified, shorter gear ratios, they're gonna be really hit or miss. Our 4800 series Xcelsiors though(2011s), they're set perfectly and run way better than our 2014-2015s.
ShaneAkACaitSith810 THAT'S FOR SURE. The newer XD40 ride quality is sit compared to the older 4800s. The MTA putting the 7000s XD40s at Flatbush Depot was the worst thing for Brooklyn. There the most boring buses in the MTA. XN40 3x better for both looks and comfort and 2x louder since they sound similar to the newer C40lfs.
