The bus is back at East 143rd Street along Morris Avenue in Mott Haven. The bus stop was among those removed in July as part of the redesign of the Bronx Local Bus Network.
Heres my issue. There were plenty of opportunities to stop some of the changes. MTA had SEVERAL town hall meetings about this. So no one went and spoke up???
This is all people have to do a lot of the times. Attend your community board meeting to know what they are planning to do. vote against things you’re not for, and it will put a stop to them doing whatever in your neighborhood.
The thing is there is no sense of community or neighborhood anymore . Maybe not in that area but a lot of places have people with no relationship to the community and just rent out a room or apartment and go about there business not caring about there community. I use to know everyone on my block , I left for 12 years and came back the whole block/ neighborhood changed and the ppl don’t give a crap about their neighbors . Like you said if they don’t attend the meetings a vote or be involved they will never know .
@@odalisgonzalez6875 yup they can’t even open a liquor store without the community approval in some places. People have to be more involved in what’s going on in their neighborhood.
We see detrimental things happen in our community and the perception is those other areas receive special attention. In reality those other areas will organize and light the fire under whatever city agency they need to, to get shit done. We can do that to and get results, I've seen it happen.
I have to take my grandfather to the VA Hospital for his appointments and the Bx32 is one of the longest bus routes I have ever taken (I had to take the BX10 to college and it wasn't this long). The Bx32 has stops within a block and a half of each in some areas and that's just ridiculous.
Some bus stops are definitely pointless. Even here in toronto Ontario Canada there are alot of those stops to. Conveniently enough one of them actually stops right in front of my place so I can't complain but if it didn't exist it wouldn't matter. From the stop b4 mine to the one right after its maybe 20 seconds and u have my stop in the middle of that so its just crazy 😆
@@PresidentCoochieGrabber the worse is a stop on every block along with a traffic light on each block on a busy street with a bunch of schools for kids to crowd the bus.
@@ariesmichaelsayan4013 for some routes I’m glad the redesign helped those that use the routes. Others that didn’t work out they can tweak those routes in order to make it more efficient.
Honestly, they have to move that bus stop down the block, not remove it. That bus stop is in a horrible location. Every time the bus comes, it causes traffic on morris ave. Its a very inconvenient location for drivers
Yeah but if you're going to eliminate bus stops you can't leave the fuking bus stop standing there still. Obviously ppl are going to stand there waiting cuz its a damn busstop. Remove the structure if the stop nolomger exists. Ppl can walk to the next one or the one prior to that one.
@@coreturkoane5570 they do read it when its there but ppl keep ripping it down and it falls and blows off in bad weather but if u just remove it there won't be any confusion.
The Mta There trying to avoid stopping every 300ft The next bus stop is 1 block away sometimes 2 stops on 1 block is ridiculous🤣🤣 and for disability and elderly they have (access a ride) that's run by the mta it's like your personal Uber lol... but then those same old ass ppl complain when the bus is slow or too crowded that they can't sit...I seen ppl with walkers walk faster then the bus can move then wave the driver down get on at the next bus stop and curse the driver out just to get off 3 stops later ofc they didn't pay🤣🤣🤣
The stop was probably taken away because the MTA did not see any fares being recorder at that stop. How come they don’t cancel stops in other areas. Just my .02 cents.
I was just going to mention that critical piece of information. MTA factors in bus stop usage by the number of paying riders, if there is less people paying their fare the MTA will likeley reducee or eliminate the bus stop completely.
Actually they cut bus stops in every neighborhood, not just Mott Haven. In Staten Island quite a number of stops were removed for the Express redesign.
All routes are paying routes and the Bx32 did not get any other changes. Aside from some headway changes, the route still travels from the VA Hospital in Kingsbridge Heights to Mott Haven just south of the 3rd Avenue-138th Street station.
I live by the bx32 in Tremont Ave. they to Bring back BX 36 at Davidson Avenue and Tremont ave Heading east and take away ( Tremont Avenue and Morris Avenue BX36 )
Aww in Pennsylvania they would be real upset. There it’s every hour. And if you miss it you miss it. And some skip stops. Brooklyn dakalb Ave stops every stop. They speak up for bus stops but not turn in people committing crimes.
I knew it was going to happen soon enough when I saw the bus stop shelter still there. The next ones they need to restore is the bus stop at Williamsbridge on St Raymond for the 31 since the distance between the first stop at Lane Avenue and Williamsbridge on Eastchester is too wide. In addition, a stop adjustment for Laconia on 232 Street needs to occur for the Westchester Square direction; at least they need to put it at 233 on Laconia since 233 Street on Paulding Avenue is too far out heading east.
yo, I'm all for the people. But these ppl are complaining for no reason. The previous stop (141 St.) is not that far away at all (500 ft.). I can see why the MTA removed the bus stop. Come on now.
It just might be a safety concern for the residents. It would appear the bus stops directly in front of their building. Also note the these were all women with concerns.
Exactly. Its a give and take. Ppl cant complain to wanting buses to move faster( not even considering traffic) but still want every stop along a route and think transit will move faster
The MTA doesn't go out to the communities and reach out to residents who live there. For example the Q102 for years going to Roosevelt Island always went down 41st Ave until June they made the changes. The bus now runs on 40th Ave and makes things a bit inconvenient cause now people have to walk extra to get to the bus or even walk back to the housing complex. I get the MTA wants to speed up the buses but most people even senior citizens can't walk that far. I think that MTA needs to observe more on the routes that will impact neighboring communities.
They usually have community hearings about this kind of stuff. Unless such an announcement implies that they'll get something for free, the grand majority of the community tends to ignore such meetings. As a collective voice, they can only express displeasure after the fact.
I honestly think that the redesigning of bus stops and all the changes with the buses in nyc, is not convenient for the community or anyone, They have totally messed up the MTA bus services. It was supposed to better the system, well it has not be improved at all. Now, you have to walk more to get to a bus stop and we have to wait a lot more for the bus to come!!!! How is that an improvement???
Not really since Central Bronx did get the best benefits. Before, the Bx36 made a meandering crosstown route by first traveling along 174th Street, then going up Boston Road to East 180th Street and then traveling west on that street before going back down to Tremont Avenue to continue the trip to Manhattan. Now it’s a straight shot along Tremont Avenue all the way down. Meanwhile the Bx40 replaced the Bx36 on East 180th Street and the Bx11 now goes to Parkchester to provide a new connection to Morrisania that previously did not exist. This is an improvement for them though some other area it’s a mixed bag.
There's a double dutch bus coming down the street, moving pretty fast so kinda shuffle your feet. Get on the bus, pay your fare, and tell the driver that you're going to a Double Dutch Affair.
new yorkers are spoiled. we should be grateful for the services MTA is proving to the public. sure lets put a bus stop on every single block. stupid people do not think about the outcome on these actions, it will increase operation cost and increase in bus travel time. these days, everything is going up. bus drivers paid is also going up so as the gas price. the fare is still stay the same. people dont realize if a business doesnt make enough money to cover its operation and extra money for maintenances and improvements then dont expect or complaint when things goes bad or the service is suck. you have to operate MTA like a private sector company in order to grow and provide better service, better buses and trains. since MTA is not making enough money thats why theres CBD toll to cover its loss. ive taken the subway system in tokyo, seoul, hong kong, and shanghai that are privately held company and the services that were provided from these cities are excellent and on time but on the other hand, the subway fare from these cities are charge by distance from stop to stop not like mta charging same amount of fare no matter how far you go. NEW YORKER one day when the city and state is too broke to fund MTA then all you b***hass will have nowhere to complain to.
They did the same thing with the 35bx horrible just horrible. They took away the first stop on the 35bx bus, now we have to walk to 167th street and Southern Blvd to catch the 35bx. It's disgusting.
If the Bx35 didn’t get taken out of Gladstone Square, then nothing would’ve replaced Bx11 service on West Farms Road. This is considering that the Bx11 was going to Parkchester to replace the Bx36, which went to Tremont Avenue to replace the Bx40, which replaced the former on East 180th Street. This is arguably the main highlight of the redesign.
Why do you think the Bx12SBS gets no complaints because it's very fast at most times, gotta give these changes a shot before shutting them down. The more space between stops the better up to 5blocks
Oh you mad ? I wouldn't Pay the MTA shit after all they be doing! How many times the turnstiles took people's money? How Many times the machine wasn't taking credit cards debit cards or cash? How many times you walk to the booth for help and the workers dismiss you ? Fuck the MTA I'll continue to hop til they actually fix the system and have trains run on time
Theres literally a bus stop a half a block away....I'm all for uniting the community but this was a waste. MTA had 100 announcments about changing the bus stops. No one said a word.
Good, because those changes left the elderly confused and why? in hell do we have to walk 2,3,4,or 5 block for a bus. When we could go downstairs or walk across the streets. And, yes I see less stop being made but this was tge dummest plan ever made!🤔🙄
Who is running this MTA . do they ever themselves take buses on daily bases. One example Q 66 which runs on northern Blvd Queens from flushing to Queens plaza skips one stop every two blocks .do these idiots have any idea that disabled people on dyalsis or hip implant or other serious physical issues can't walk four blocks of street when the bus skip the stop they are standing. Today took Q49 to Jackson heights last stop .needed transfer bus Q53 to Elmhurst hospital NY .after getting off cross the bus terminal no bus stop find for Q53 . someone told it's moved to next block on Broadway and in between 75 and 76 street .no sitting arrangements no bench no shelter is available always crowded .plus a different way to use transfer ( get transfer from machine a Chinese disabled was standing in rain try to figure out how to get fare card ) at least a shelter should be here and something to sit ..too much problems this city is becoming third world countries city as corrupted officials are enjoying union jobs under the wings of corrupt bosses like ex mayor de Blasio the one who destroyed NY and this new ex cop whose first pay check he wanted was in Bitcoin. imagine the greed .do u think a greedy mayor can do any thing good for his city .those who brought a black mayor and black police commissioner thinking will solve and handel repeat offender criminals will be totally wrong as the city is transferring it's status in Chicago like jungle.cant say more because then government officials give me hard time
Stop living off the government and get a Got damn car lazy broke folks and if your to old to drive or have health issues then just have those handicap trucks or w.e they are pick you up otherwise get a job or save your money better it’s terrible being 50+ yrs in this world and your complaining about bus routes you should have been had your life together
