B23 and B51 buses were also discontinued the same day the V train was discontinued. G trains also no longer went to forest hills station and was extended to church avenue
"Take the train to the plane", "take the train to the plane", I remember that JKF Express jingle. Had a love/hate relationship with that damn "9" train. It always ran more efficiently than the #1 train, but it bypass my station-stop at 145 St. forcing passengers to get off at the City College stop and wait forever for that damn slow ass #1 train.

I remember back in the 90s the K train used to run between Vine Hills and sixth Avenue local where the J and Z used to run and then soon the train was discontinued after the end because because it was it was not used that much and I remember that the train used to run between 6th Ave., Livonia that’s where the Elgin goes. I know to exist. I knew back in the 90s. I knew that used to run between Livonia.
The original K ran between Canarsie and 6 Ave. The J from 168st Jamaica Queens to Broad st. The Z didn't exist then till Archer Ave line was open in 1988
I miss the Brown (M) and the (V). The brown (M) was so useful providing service to Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn but the new Orange (M) is so useless and provides server from Lower Queens, Manhattan, Upper Queens.

Yes the 6th av Q train it ran from Forrest hills to idk but it got replaced by the F that we know now in the 2000’s and the were discontinued because they were replaced bye the AM rush 5 express with a local bullet it ran from eastchester to nereid all times and the was replaced by the AM rush 4 express with a lcl bullet as well they were still in place when the 80’s duel cab r62/A’s were still out and the south ferry loop sadly they were discontinued in the 2000’s and so as the 9 train that was a skip stop 1 train like the Z train it ran from south ferry after chambers the 9 went on the express track and continued to van courtland park 242nd st the 9 is bad tho because the 9 skipped 145 and all those passenger got off at that damn 137th street and had to take the slow ass damn 1 train back
The M train is one beaten line it seems they can’t find any consistent route for that train. Only one portion of its route has been consistent and that’s Metropolitan ave to Marcy Ave
out of all these lines, only the V train was useful. I would say probably more useful than the current M train. The rest of the lines needed to be gone at some point and I’m glad that happened!
Orange M is doing much better. Eliminate transfer at Essex St. It doesn't make sense if the F does exact same thing as the V from 2nd Ave to Forest Hills. M train on West End low ridership, most ppl goes to Midtown Manhattan not Nassau st line

6 Train 1904 - 1945 He walked from Phelam Bay Park to City Hall in 1945, the train no longer runs to the city Hall, the line was shortened in 1945 to the Brooklyn Bridge
The M6 basically the M55, M16 now the M34A SBS, M18 and unused route not really replaced by anything. M27, literally the M50 but trunked. M30 basically ran like M57 to M72. Routes that are way different than todays map: M1: extended south to South Ferry (Rush Hours Only) also runs via park Ave from 40th st - 14th M5: extended south to Houston St M9: Extended Eastern to Park Ave on 14th Street when heading North. Running via Pearl St instead of via Park Row M10: extended south to West 31st St M12: not existing M15 (Rush Hours): would go to Park Row M20: In the southern terminus it went to north of Battery Park M21: extended up to 29th st between 1 Ave and 2 Ave. basically did what the m9 does now M42: extended to Javits Center M98: extended south to 32nd St M100: obviously runs on 125th st but doesn’t anymore due to the Bronx Bus Redesign M104 extends south to run on 42nd st
For Queens the removed routes (2009): Q14: is now Q15A Q45: is the southern portion of Q47 Q74: a stupid route that’s probably why it got removed Q75: a tag-along route to Q17 and Q88 Q79: Q36 little neck route Q89: literally the Q9A but glad that they removed it. Routes that are way different than todays map: Q3 & Q10: its southern terminus is the jfk terminals Q19: doesn’t have the western terminus instead it ends at Hoyt ave and 21st st Q21: southern terminus is in the Rockaway Q33: extend north into LGA airport Q36: ends its eastern terminus in floral park Q47: southern terminus got cut off to Roosevelt Avenue Q113/LTD: the limited route portion covers the Q114. This 2009 map that I looked at didn’t have many differences to today’s map. After the Queens Bus Redesign is put into position, then you’ll notice differences.
G train 1994-6/25/2010 The G Used to run Between Jackson Heights - Forest Hills 71 Av on the day that trains V and buses b51 and b23 ended service, Train G no longer runs to Forest Hills 71 Av The line was extended to the Church Av After 2010 the train G I continued walking, but not to Forest Hills 71 Av and to the Church Av

Newer train models are not always needed!!! What's needed are train lines/bus routes that were discontinued years ago and new rouye connections. I'd rather my tax money go towards rebuilding/reactivating abandoned subway lines or restoring discontinued bus routes than to get new subway train car models. All y'all care about is phasing out anything that looks old and the new isn't always for the better when it comes to the mta. "realize the facts bro". 🤣
@@ViniBallonDor False. Many bus routes were discontinued in 2010 because the mta was having a financial crisis. The Q74 was one of the most crowded and busiest bus routes in queens for both rush hours and non-rush hours and it was eliminated because of the mta having budget cuts not because the route wasn't needed

JFK Train was hardly used because they hardly show up. If you missed one, you are stuck waiting like 30 or 40 minutes for the next one. Most people would rather take the (A) train to the airport instead. ✈🚃🚃🚃💨
13 years ago they merged the Brown M and V trains into the orange M. The Old M went from Metropolitan Avenue In Queens To Bay Pkwy In Brooklyn and The V Went From Forest Hills To 2nd Avenue. The M goes From Metropolitan Avenue to Forest Hills (which makes no sense because they are only 2.4 miles away from each other...)
@@CD-bj5qh the brown M and V were merged into the new 6th ave M. It now runs on both preexisting lines. During weekdays, the orange M runs between Middle village to 71st Ave, Forest Hills, and weekends and late nights the M is used as a shuttle between Essex street and Metropolitan ave while the E and F trains takes care of all the late night local services to forest hills. I still don’t get why they wouldn’t make the new M a loop line.
