I like both. I like MTA because it has the map editor and easier user-interface but it doesn't have too much english servers. And I like SA-MP because it has lots of servers to choose from and a good community. Both have pros and cons.

now MTA is dead , I used to play MTA Deathmatch servers on 2011 , 2012, and 2016 , and now when i installed it , the most server are empty , there are just like 20 servers with players , others with just 1 or 2 players WTF.
This was done on SA-MP 0.2, the new 0.3 version is alot better, and none of the issues shown in this video are still apparrent. Also, the SA-MP multiplayer version in development (0.3c) will have even better sync than 0.3b (current), rendering both MTA and SA-MP equal in sync.
It used to be this way, in old versions. This has been fixed quite a while ago, and mods have been permitted for use in newer versions for at least a year or so.
Im not wrong once you pay MTA you will get fucking bored the only thing is that MTA is easy to script where as SA:MP isnt much easy i mysel is an scripter and a Mapper on both MTA and SA:Mp and i know verywell
yea but its designed for more advanced servers. sooooo since i like simple empty servers on which my brother and i play and record our gameplay i will stay with samp but it doesnt have the gui mostly
well i heard mta is the first multiplayer gta so samp is copy from mta but trust me mta is awsome i got a nice friend its better on samp its dumb it dident ifen work on my computer
You can play in both, like me. But SAMP has more servers, and so many greats Rp's. About the hacking thing,, hacker only hack i an Administrator isnt watching them. I recommend SAMP though.
...And that's a fact, not "bullshit", MTA has been ridiculoulsy customized to the point where it doesn't even look or feel like your playing a mod for san andreas. SA-MP offers multiplayer for users, whether your game is modified or not, you're still playing online with others, it also keeps things simple, which IMO is why SA-MP attracts more players.

Mr.Death68 i hate mta's vehicle spawning and tuning system that "F2" or which one and click through a bunch of buttons. SAMP has servers where its enough to type in "/v" pick a category and a vehicle and ur done. (This is my 2 month experience with MTA btw)
I dont know who is better I played SAMP and MTA for 4 years and ive seen good and bad things: SAMP: Supports CLEO mods and ASI loader Has better servers RP servers are the best Bad things: So many hackers on all servers Bad Admins -------------------------------------- MTA: What i love about MTA was all the DM and WAR servers with good admins (AND DDC servers!) -- Bad Things: THE PARACHUTE SUCKS! EVEN I LOVE B.A.S.E AND CANT DO IT WITH MTA It doesnt supports Cleos and ASI files Modded Parachute.dff doesnt works (because MTA parachute physics sucks) ..... Guys Samp has better servers than MTA e.g. LS-RP. This video was made ages ago, I started Samp 2 months ago and loving it. I suggest to go on Samp instead of this biased MTA shit
There have been a few decent roleplay servers on MTA but a vast majority of them go nowhere. OwlGaming is looking to break that trend and hopefully it happens. Quality roleplay with 70+ players on at peak. Not quite up to par with LS:RP's almost 600 players but then again its only been open for a few weeks.
Frankly I quite enjoy both multiplayer "games" or programs or whatever you want to call them. I mean SA:MP's got one of my favourite roleplaying servers while MTA has got some decent quality servers too. I'd say I'd give a 8/10 for both multiplayer modifications.
SAMP is better in DM and Roleplay I played Fenixzone a SV "RP" (im banned lvl 9 :C) and its very fun. LS-RP is the best SV Roleplay in SAMP and it is perfect.. MTA is better in Race, Mods and the other GM. I play FFS Gaming and it is very fun.
@@insertname340 I have played samp for like 1 year and it was definitely too much - the client is pretty unstable, lots of crashes happen and also you can expierience the same bugs that occurr in singleplayer. While server can have an anticheat it's still possible to bypass it, meanwhile MTA has built-in anticheat which is alot harder to bypass and even if you manage to, you most likely will get banned from MTA so it's not worth trying. The last and the biggest advantage is that MTA is still getting updates, fixes and overall it's not dead unlike samp.
Better than MTA? What are you talking about? Just because SA-MP did a few improvements (something that was working fine on MTA all along), now it's better? And what about MTA's endless scripting capabilities allowing to manipulate all the stuff in the game? SA-MP devs add a few scripting functions and the players worship them like heroes, despite that stuff having been available in MTA for a few years. Just proves that MTA has always been ahead of its time.
@EFKA Ltu What you're saying is not gonna work on me. I've been into this stuff for 13 or 14 years and I know better than the vast majority of people what I'm talking about. I went through so much crap in SA-MP. Like getting kicked as a cheater for totally legitimate bike stunting. Or getting killed by admins who didn't know any better than minigunning the ordinary players. Now, I know you're going to say "it's individual server's fault, not SA-MP's!" but that's exactly the point. Servers don't say a lot about the program. The program's own capabilities do. I've seen stuff in MTA servers that you can only dream of in SA-MP, but even that is not needed for comparison. MTA's unmatched scripting capabilities say it all. And considering I started scripting on SA-MP and MTA 12 years ago, I know better than someone who relies on other scripters to show them what the multiplayers are capable of.
@EFKA Ltu Like I had predicted - you give SA-MP a credit for your better experience with SA-MP servers, but you blame SA-MP servers and not SA-MP itself for my worse experience with SA-MP servers. How contradictory. Which is why I don't care what servers do, I care what the program does. Do you even script on MTA and SA-MP? I did, I'm well familiar with scripting capabilities of both of them, and I've been aware of MTA's superiority ever since I saw its scripting functions list back in 2008. I once attempted to create SA-MP ped traffic script just for comparison to my MTA ped traffic script. I never did, because it required much more work, and even then, it wouldn't have worked nearly as well as MTA traffic script did. This is just one of the many examples how SA-MP sucks, and you can't blame it on servers.
@@sagat223 No, it's SA-MP scripting that sucks. SA-MP doesn't even allow you to properly control the NPCs. I would have had to resort to generating recordings for all path segments and having the NPCs play those recordings. A shitload of recordings to generate and you still wouldn't have been able to interact with the NPCs because they have no physics. No reason to put that much work into something that will still be worse than the equivalent thing in MTA. Not gonna waste my effort on SA-MP scripting just to demonstrate how much effort is wasted. So yes, the way I'm typing doesn't change anything, actual facts about SA-MP and MTA scripting do.
I'm well aware of that SA-MP has alot of empty servers, so does MTA, but the fact is SA-MP has more bigger servers with a higher player count than MTA, so basically what I'm saying is more to choose from. So maybe it's you who should do the research.
I would like to make it clear, that this is a rather old video, and: The first part is a rather odd way to compare the two mods, and that no longer happens in SA:MP. The second part was also fixed long time ago, vehicles are properly synced nowadays. The third part IS true, you cannot damage unoccupied vehicles, but this is obiviously intended, and can actually be scripted if you want The fourth part is the only valid part of the video. SA;MP has no bodypart detection and it's hard to script it.
MTA might have better sync but it still has bugs. Not to mention how easy is to kill someone with a headshot when the player is in a car. Doesn't matter where you shoot you'll still get a headshot. And also it doesn't have enough fun servers.
it's even more lame than the whole "SA-MP is more popular because when you Google San Andreas Multiplayer SA-MP is top of the list" Srsly, that excuse is exhausted now and I'm pretty sure people actually play MTA first, realise how hard is to adapt to, and then make the switch to SA-MP, just like I did.
