I mix sound, and your tone on your bass is beautiful for mixing live and tracking audio. I love it! Thank you for giving us details regarding your bass. Great job!
Thanks bro!!! Yeah, before this MTD I wasn't sure for the versatility, but this one with the maple fretboard gives warmth I think to cover other genres. That chicken was short haha. I was so sleepy to play these through lol
I listen to your videos every day when I go to work. Your touch, feeling, and grooving is so awesome to me 。 I also have a 535 but your 635 sounds amazing. You are the target of my study
It's an Elixir set, actually quite old haha. I don't want the over bright sound when I change the strings, so on my MTD, I love this old set to balance the brightness of the tone!
Thank you so much! it's not crazy moving, but It is deforming than maple for sure. For other basses that I've had, I rarely touch the neck, but this MTD I do adjusting neck and setups. I love doing that makes me to understand my instrument better sometime?! haha. Yes, it's punchier but you need to work around.
@@daved1573Since last July? Before I had experienced the 2 different MTDs, but this one works great. I didn’t even buy any string sets for this bass, I used my used elixir 6 string set from some years 😂
Hi Peter! Im a beginner bass player and ive been playing for my church for around 10 months now. I recently discovered your channel and I love the content you create. I also love how your bass sounds. (I even looked at how much it costs, but as a college kid I cant afford it😂) I just wanted to ask if there was any bass guitar that you would recommend for someone like me?
Hi Eliot! that's awesome you're already playing and enjoying bass!! I really appreciate that. It's very depends on the budget this MTD costs around $4-7k (including used) I would recommend less or around $1000 Sire jazz basses, Sadowsky Metro Express Jazz, Lakland 55-02 Fender Player Jazz, Yamaha BB basses I've got in mind now. Go for the jazz bass first, then you collect Pbass or Humbuckers whatever later! Always search for used market as well. let me know if you want more detailed answer, Thank you!
Thank you so much for the quick response! I will say that you nailed the price range for my budget however, a mentor of mine recommended me to get a Pbass and a lot of what you recomebnded are Jazz bases. Are P basses just that much more expensive and harder to find? (Also, I have no idea what kind of bass this is but I loved the sound of it but I have no idea if this bass is from a repretuable brand. Its called the Markbass Kimandu 4 Richard Bona Signature Bass Green. Do you have any ideas about this bass?)@@Peterkleemusic
Oh! and one more thing, is there any way you can make a video on what your EQ settings are? Or maybe an educational video on what software/interface and what settings you personally think are best?
Sure! Pbass is less versatile than jazz, have fatter tone, but you can make Pbass sounds with Jazz bass(not exact same but close) price is the same or less. Jazz bass is more common. After a few year you want to sell or upgrade, you can resell easily with jazz bass. Pbass is harder. Markbass makes great basses too, I've tried Markbass GV5 at Guitar Center, it was expressive and I wanted to buy one! you should check. At the end it's all your preference and favor! If you can, try before you buy! Kimandu is great one as well
Yes, I would love to! wait for next week.. this week is extremely busy. Actually, I can do live during next week and you can ask, so I can show you with my computer!
Hello, i'm a beginner-intermediate bass player and I also play regularly in church. I think your playing is amazing! Do you use different eq settings for gospel and CCM songs? If so what eq settings do you prefer for both of those and do you change eq in between songs?
Hello, thank you for the questions! First of all, it depends on the bass and preamp. Ex. Some are brighter than others, you wanna cut high. But normally CCM is not for bass based, so you wanna make a balance and well blend tone for drum kick and snare. On the other hand, Gospel music is heavily bass based, so you wanna make distinct sound than CCM genre. I can’t explain it all, but you get the idea! I change eq btw songs, fast and slow songs. I boost high more for the fast.. I will do a live session during next week! You can ask me so I can show you🙏👍
Thanks, Brian! We definitely don't need a high C for playing major gigs and jobs. You're correct, it's for chordal and soloing(improvisations) other than that, it is not useful to have a wider neck and pay for extra string lol😱 Personally, I like the look for 6strings and believe that a wider neck gives more depth for the tone of the sonic vibration whatever you wanna call. Sometimes, I tell myself I want this in 5strings!
The feel and sound is different, Roscoe feels heavier and smoother tones with more mid frequencies. MTD is brighter in a good way. both are considered as "high-end" so quality is great already. Roscoe is 34' scale, MTD is 35' scale for their standard. Also, same Bartolini but completely different sound. Roscoe is closer to the Ken Smith sound in my opinion. I love their LG model! but MTD feels better on my hands! Thank you🙏
Sure, I love passive basses. I understand their goals, I saw some people modify their MTD to get passive mode! you should consider. Or I will try in the future 🙏🙏
Thank you! that's awesome you're in China!! I have my Insta still, re-started uploading stuff there too. However, I'm currently want to build RU-vid! instagram.com/peterkleemusic
I really appreciate!! thank you for your love and it is inspiring to me to keep making videos and even playing bass. After NAMM show this week, I will be making for times to we chat and talk whatever on RU-vid with using live! I'm looking forward 🙏
I agree, and thank you so much🙏😂 I thought about that too for the weight part.. Sorry, It was so prompt and late night 😂😂 I will make more detail and prepared for the part 2!
