Very well put Sneha! One upside to doing masters is you will make variety of friends. U will hav crazy amazing conversations on mess tables, sometimes intellectual, sometimes silly. Later these people will become ur connections across different parts of industry and academia.

I have had colleagues from tier- 3 colleges get better work than me in my own company, just because they are sitting in US, with a masters from there. I am from a new IIIT, which has avg placement of 8lpa. I am in fourth sem cse. But my college life is literally f#kd up (bcz of my failed Relationship). Also i am not prepared for placement bcz of stress and Others are prepared too much. I am avg in dsa and no projects. What should i do, placement Or Gate?
Hey, if you think you are lacking opportunities and you can invest your time preparing for GATE then MTech from tier 1 institution will not disappoint you. I mean see yourself what do you think is more appropriate to you. If you think preparing for placement is more hustle then go for MTech

I will join an engineering college this year. I didnt prepare well for JEE. Its my mistake completely. I Totally ignored one complete subject. Maybe I will be getting a Tier3 college. Please tell me what to do now. I feel scared when I think of a Tier 3 college. I had genuine intrest in computers since childhood. But now my career will not go to that level because of my college. like you said... people are doing online courses instead. because when you interview for big MNCs mainly in FAANG all they want is skillset. if you can work on that in these 4 years of your BTech you are good to go. see not getting tier 1 college for your Btech is not the end of the world. its totally upto you how you can turn the whole situation around. and I will definitely not suggest to prepare for GATE starting from your first year of BTech. it would be really foolish. enjoy your BTech find your passion work on your skills build your resume. and finally after 2 years of your btech if you feel like you did nothing..or you want to pursue GATE then only do it.

Hi sania, where do you live? I can ask students from your home town. If they know about a good coaching institute there. Also you said you are from ece you will find many subjects from your branch. For example you also study digital electronics, then mathematics, aptitude is common for all. You might also know a programming language that will help in DSA. I would suggest you to go through the Gate overflow website and check detailed subjects and subtopics of each subjects as well. Then if there is no offline coaching institute in your hometown you can join an online coaching as well. I suggest joining coaching because that way you will have to put less effort and you will also have an idea of how much hour you will have to put to prepare for gate
This video almost cleared my 60% of confusion. I'm currently in my end of 2nd yr,pursuing btech in cse from SRM KTR, I want to give GATE in my 4th year, but I'm worried by the fact , what if I don't clear it, on the other hand I don't have any project but I'm interested in CP, I don't have anyone to guide me on this, I'm stuck on this since a long time, coz I know offcampus placements works successfully on referrals most of the time and it's tough to get but on the other hand , I won't have any skills if I give my whole time preparing for GATE! See i mean its only you who would have to make up your mind. If you really want to do masters and know your reasonings that why. I can only tell this that preparing for gate cs is not hard. Most of the qsns comes from PYQs. I mean the type of qsns. And if you get a tier 1 college then you wont have to worry about anything. Placements are good. Plus you will have an opportunity to graduate from a tier one college. That’s an experience in itself. And if you any how are able to grab a good placement and that’s what you want from masters . Then also you are not missing on anything. So just know what is more effective for your situation. I knew for sure masters is the best way out
I am from northeast india🇮🇳,,cse 2nd year,final exam just got over before 1 month,and I also have same confusion,and as I didn't get chance in government clg,for btech,I am doing my btech in private college,it's too much cost,and I am from a poor family,still my parents , specially for my brother,I can continue my study, sometime I f eel too shy🙂want to do any part time ,but nothing I can find,if online then better,bcoz whole day I stay in clg, but,in online also maxm,are fake,,don't know what will I do in future,it's a huge competition this days,I don't know whether I will get a job or not, whether I will able to make my parents happy or not,help the poor😔,my mother is a kidney patient,and my father is retired teacher,,, anyway hope for the best,God🙏,,,bless all,🙂
I'm hoping to hear back from you about my question. Because I want to ask this to a neutral person. I've done my MCA recently and had a hard time getting shortlisted even though I have some certification from Coursera and did 2 projects on my own. I did DSA too but I couldn't get any calls from the companies. I want to do Mtech in IITs and want to give GATE CSE/IT in 2025. Until then, I will prepare for Gate and earn some money. I'm confident that I can qualify gate and If I work hard, I have a chance to get admission. But do you think I should do another master's degree in computer science when I already have an MCA degree? I did BSC ( 3 years ) and MCA ( 2 years ) and now If I prepare for 1 year, It will be 6 years of education already. I did a job for 5 months for the NON-IT sector but It's just a small job.. I can manage everything this year because I'm so determined to do something. So, please suggest to me If I should completely focus on placements or if can I also prepare for Gate and do 2 years of MTECH again. I also want to to Ph.D. in the future after working for a few years. I think I have given all the information about my education and motivation, so I'm waiting for your reply.
Hey.. looking at your situation.. if you want to really make career in IT.. doing Mtech from CS from a tier one college is a great option.. on campus placements are way easier.. also doing MTech after MCA wont hurt.. you can also do specialisation in the area of your interest in MTech.. and I also did four years of Btech then one year drop.. and then 2 years Mtech before landing my first job.. so I dont think your 6 years make any difference,
I have another question. I noticed that there are two exams for GATE: GATE CSE/IT and GATE DA. Which one do you suggest for me? Please answer my Question I am Second year 4th semester student of Electronics and communications at one of the mine local college. And in from the 2nd sem I started preparing for Gate Electronics and communications but after watching the video of Mtech students I want to know if I prepare for Gate Computer science then my chances of getting placed after my masters program is high then Electronic.so from January I stopped for electronic and started for computer science. But after this recession time I think that computer science students demand is getting low in future so it is better to prepare for Gate Electronics. So I have doubt that what to do prepare for Gate Computer science or Gate Electronics. (And my final goal is that I got very good placements package after my masters.)
Hi vraj.. dont worry about the recession… see in what field do you actually want to work? What do you like more? If you like electronics more than there is no point running after CS. If you think you dont actually have a preference and placement is your only priority. So you might know that even CS students prepare for clding and DSA separately. Electronics students too. So if you want to sit for SDE jobs. You will anyway have to prepare for placements. So analyse in which subject you should do GaTe so that it will be easier for you to crack tier 1 college.

Hi, I personally prepared from RBR sir videos. But I don’t know if his course still available or not. Then many of the gate rankers in my college prepared from applied gate cs course. Other than that GO classes has also very good reviews. You can check their demo videos and see what you like the most..
Did companies like Facebook Rubrik Tower research and DE shaw visits IISC bangalore for placements?? I had heard that they only go to top IITs NIT and IIITs

@@logarithmfunction8047 did i ever say that? That come to IISc and leave IITs. People have their owe reasons. Some want to see if they want to stay in academic and want to pursue PhD and so on. Some feel that in IIsc competition for placement will be with their fellow Mtech only. In IITs upto 2k students or more sit in a placement season hence competition is tougher. Its just a mere choice. If you want tons of placement opportunities sure go ahead for IITs. Their startup cells are also good. You can learn a lot from there.

Because i never worked with AI ML in my BTech. I was not sure if I actually want a career in that area. Also in Mtech CSA we can choose any subjects so I chose ML , DL as my subjects. But still I didn’t find myself very much inclined to this area. I sat on placement for both the job roles though. In NVIDIA i am placed as SDE

And everybody has different destiny. what I achieved at 24 some people get it even more younger. for some it may take time. just belief in yourself. self belief is most important :)
Hello Mam, i'm starting my preparation for GATE 2024 and i want to buy a test series from March itself, i was thinking of buying Gate@Zeal and Made Easy test series, can you please tell me if Gate@Zeal test series is good enough or not? or should i go for other ones?(Applied Gate is no more).
Gate zeal is very good.. it will prepare you for your worst. Its tougher than what usual get asked in Gate. But they cover all the important aspects. So just dont get disheartened by the marks you will get there. Give that test series for the self improvement. And made easy test series are also good. Just that after a time qsn become repetitive. You can also try free mock test of gate overflow in their webiste to check if you like them or not

@@Sneha_Negi Hi sneha mam. I'm an electrical final year btech grad from a tier 1 college in India.. Nvidia also visited our college For system engineer role... The CTC was 38lpa 15.5 lakh - base salary 3 lakh joining bonus 18 lakh stocks ( 25 percent vesting each year). First year compensation was about 24 lpa... This was for btech graduates... I wouldn't ask your exact CTC break up.. But can u give me a hint that did nvidia pays more to mtech graduates For the same role? Also what are the placement scenario of your friends...?
