Yee for sure! Been having so much more fun brewing now you don't need to jam Ring and Bowmasters into everything and the gameplay has felt way better since the nerfs, didn't fully realize how much of a menace Bowmasters was.

i've been playing sultai control and was absolutely destroying the alchemy ladder until i started seeing mice combo everywhere. my deck can only answer mice combo if i have a tear asunder at the right moment before the enchantment copies. i think i'll be splashing white for legions to ashes and atraxa. that should let me nicely go over the top of these mice combo decks.
I've been having pretty decent results with an izzet spellslinger deck (top 800 mythic) , but I've only beaten this deck once xddd I don't play counterspells since I benefit usually from playing at sorcery speed, but against this it is really hard to stop the combo xd and if I can't keep my creatures on the board its really hard to get value xp Anyway, congrats on nr 1!

If you are interested to build a deck with Overcooked, I create the following deck yesterday and obtained very good results in Bo1....: 4 candy trail 4 mishra's research desk 4 yotia declares war 4 lembas 4 third-path iconoclast 4 food fight 4 chrome host seedshark 4 overcooked 4 saheeli, filigree master + 24 lands what do you think about it? some ideas to optimise it? ;-)
When I saw Lembas I thought there was going to be some Bargain tech in here, but Candy Grapple is kind of the only appealing one for what you're doing and that's not better than Go For the Throat. I am surprised Lembas is better than Hopeful Vigil, as the 2/2 seems like it could get you three life worth of value. Congratulations on another #1.
Yoo thanks! Yeah Lembas looks unassuming but it's been really solid at improving consistency, the incidental lifegain has been really useful, and it's great with Dollmaker. The big difference between Hopeful Vigil and Lembas is that Vigil doesn't draw you a card, and it doesn't provide the card selection/ advantage upfront - being able to Lembas on turn 2 is so good at ensuring you keep hitting land drops/ help find colors if you're missing any, as well as digging for whatever else you need early on and is also a nice topdeck later when you have a lot of mana and want to find action - the card selection is much more valuable than a 2/2 would be imo.
Great deck as always alth. But my question now is how do I beat the god damn mirror lol it’s all over my ladder now. Serious question. Appreciate your advice
Yoo thanks! I've not played the ladder since I posted this video so I've not played the mirror myself yet. I'm not really sure there's any silver bullets you could run in the sideboard since the deck attacks from a few different angles so I don't know if you can really get an edge in terms of making tweaks to the deck so tight play is probably the only way sorry! There should be good counterplay since Legions to Ashes can reset the combo if one player gets it online, Ransom and Rusko are really good ways to pull ahead, but Porcine Portent can answer both Rusko & the Midnight Clock, so just try and pick your spots to use your removal carefully and try and leverage the combo/ Rusko/ Mirrex etc to pull ahead.

Nah I've not found Stone Brain to be an issue at all since the deck has multiple ways of closing out the game, so if the opponent removes Dollmaker you can still win with Rusko/ Portent/ Mirrex/ Blind Mice etc. and it's a big tempo negative play from the opponent so I'm usually happy to see the opponent use Stone Brain.
I've not played Mardu myself yet so hard for me to say for sure but Esper has felt really strong across the board and the Mardu matchup has felt pretty favorable from the Esper side (I'm currently 10-2 according to Untapped). Looking at the Mardu list my main concerns would be that with less interaction you're more vulnerable to the combo decks like Ratadrabik/ Took/ Dollmaker, and would also struggle more to capitalize on the Dollmaker combo yourself since you're vulnerable to faster starts killing you before the mice tokens can stabilize you (I noticed that Crokeyz build doesn't run Three Blind Mice at all so they look like pretty different decks to me where Mardu is much more of a pure midrange deck whereas this deck is very much a control deck with access to a combo). It also looks like the Mardu deck leans more heavily on its early discard which is a great way to enable Crucias & Overseer to take over the game but also leaves you more vulnerable to good topdecks which isn't really an issue for Esper because of the high amount of removal if that makes sense?
