This is something that I've been wanting to make for a while and now it finally exists. My good friend Rusty reached out to me about creating some custom quick disconnects for the PF22 Foam Cannon and this is the end result. They're machined out of aluminum and then anodized in blue. The best part is it comes with a cap so you can cap off the foam cannon bottle.

Let's get the price conversation out of the way, these aren't cheap and are made in small batches. However they're made here in the US and the quality is just amazing. You'll use it once and realize it's worth every penny.

Nah, I kinda thought about this problem of having (or wanting to have) multiple bottles for my foam cannon with various products but have the capped for use at a later date. This is a more elegant, as Matt stated, solution. Albeit, a very expensive one, initially. I think at $50, this will be far more popular. Good on you Matt, for having the balls to give this a go. If I was a manufacturer of foam cannons, I'd be thinking "hell, we should be selling more bottles for our foam cannons....let make a simple cap for them and sell our spare bottles in packs of 3 (with lids)". More revenue stream rather than just selling cannons.

Quick Connect Funnel? What about a Quick Connect Cap for quick deployment/storage :D Maybe with a Vinyl Sticker to scribble what chemical, and ratio. ie; GSF, 1:1!

Real cool idea. Only problem i see is it doesn't really solve the issue of having 2 bottles. One bottle for wheels, one bottle for body. It would mean needing 2 quick disconnects, one for each bottle. Which then gets crazy pricey. Real nice none the less.

I love how Matt tries to find elegant solutions to problems and he often succeeds. But this is a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist. In 5 years I've never messed up the threads on my PF22. If I ever did I can replace the bottle for $14. If I want to have multiple bottles with different products to foam I can literally buy multiple PF22's at $90/per and still save at least 20% over this "solution". But the OG cultists will buy it. Matts laughter tells you he knows this is just dumb.

Yes, agree with others, priceless when you told the price and smiled with a grin. Especially like the sales pitch at 12:51 saying you sold out all 24, telling us you make 30% margin but wanting to make more margin. Love it. This product is a true example of OG'ers paying for your experiments to see if it's viable. Good strategy.

I heard $125 and I had a mini heart attack....then I remembered I have clients who pay quadruple digits for ceramic coatings. Will be picking up one of these as soon as you get them in. Awesome idea!

Love the transparency on how much it costs you to produce them. While expensive, I think you're gross profit margin is very reasonable and the product looks great!

Brilliant solution! Blue is the Obsessed Garage color, but it would be great to have in red to color coordinate with my soap bucket. Can’t wait till these are back in the store.

At the start of the video I said to myself I’d buy one for $50 but when I saw that it was going for $125 I quickly decided it would be easier to just buy a few empty bottles incase I screwed on up. Since I’ve never had that happen to me it’s nothing I’m worry about. Maybe I’ll buy one when my new Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita arrives, if I have some cash left. Seriously it’s a great idea but too expensive for someone like me who’s not in the detailing business.

My only thought, is that would be more advantageous to have the female portion on the cannon portion? That would allow you to use, the cheaper to machine, male portion on the bottle. You could setup several different bottles and switch between them as needed.

You know what getting these out as a first run takes some nuts. People always want the first one of something so I’d be surprised if they aren’t sold out already. I’d lurrrvveeeeee one but I’m in Australia so this would turn into a $200+ solution once shipping and conversion is factored in. I’m going to keep an eye on it hopefully when they get a little cheaper in AUD I’ll pick one up for sure

It's an elegant solution to a problem that I don't think *really* exists. You've been talking to a bottle manufacturer all this time with your atomisers (spray bottles), so why not ask them to make a bottle (an even better shaped one than the 22.2 - maybe an even wider base) that fits the MTM PF22 thread and make a matching lid and maybe a funnel that fits. Super cheap in comparison and you'd sell to the whole freaking market!!!!

Have you tried PTFE thread sealant instead of teflon tape? I would think it would save a lot of time with the amount of fittings you tape

Version 3 stick with the wide base integrate a metal collar on the plastic container that has rings similar to the quick disconnect and then have a QD on the head. Eliminates bulk. Easier to manufacture and you can still have a wide mouth opening for easy fill. I’m thinking of a compression fit style. Just an idea. BTW love the idea of QD for everything.

I can buy a couple of extra bottles, store them somewhere that I will forget where the are, or I can just buy this gadget and be done with it - agree with a couple of other posters that having a funnel for soap filling would be good.

Make a stainless version and u can weld them to a stainless bottle and u can make a few different size bottles that have some weight to them and won’t flip over and make it compact too aluminum will work too but it’s allot harder to weld to. U can make or buy stainless bottles all over for cheap even in aluminum. Or u can build the quick disconnect into the bottle also and that will cut of a welder but will cost more to make. Just some ideas

You need the quick disconnect for the new flat-bottom MTM bottle or the straw is not going to suck the soap when you get the soap to the bottom of the bottle. You need to experience it to find out what I am talking. Sorry for any confusion.

dude, just take a look at Wal-Mart's cheapy foam cannon (actually over delivers for the $$). just two slots on the bottle and the lid. Very well secured and no risk off stripping.

Matt, have you thought about cutting the female connection so it over laps the stem of the bottle? That would lower the height and reduce the ability to tip.

You could have gone with magnets. It would make for a slimmer profile. To detach the nozzle from the bottle all you need to do is hold it down on a table to avoid it splashing everywhere

Seriously 5 hr window and I'm already too late! Sold out! TAKE MY MONEY. I thought about this issue the first time I got a MTM cannon. I was kind of pissed at them for making such a weak failure point with collar plastic threading. A few months later a friend borrowed it and ruined the bottles threading.

I use the funnel to put the soap in. Is there a quick disconnect funnel it comes with? Otherwise the soap will go all over the place.

I'll be honest guys. It's an absolute great idea for the longevity of the tmt hydro BUT for $125 absolutely no way! I mean it's a great idea and super useful. It's just there's no way to justify that outrageous price tag. Maybe $35 or $40 MAX

+MattMoreman - great idea but very expensive. I was hoping you might have a cheaper solution for me...Do you sell a screw on cap only for the PF22.2 (or have a suggestion for this part)? I want to get a spare bottle to keep wheel cleaner and car soap separate, but would just need a cap for storing and can't justify the cost of the quick disconnect perk.

I think this would have been better as a cheaper chem resistant Polycarbonate/Nylon 3d printed part, or a 316L stainless part that won't react with other chemicals, and has no carbon for oxide/rust to form.
