I remember the controversy back in 2000 and it was all over the place, the more bad press or good press he got, the more the album sold, it got people curious.
I remember the media and the riots over his album and all the controversy of it and all it did was intrigue more people to go buy it and listen too it lol the hate just couldn’t overshadow his talent
@xp8969 I think ur imagining huge riots. The "riots" they're talking about is when ppl would march w picket signs protesting him and burn his CD's in record shops. Which kinda does count as a riot.
@@stretch.wilson. Eminem doesn't do horrorcore really. I mean you could say Relapse was but hes still Eminem & super Hiphop. Eminem is too versatile, too authentic, & too Hiphop to really put him in any category like that
The only way to describe this man, is in 99 everything was still black and white Not just on TV , but IrL Then…. My name is drops… And the world is all of a sudden in color 🌈 🌞
I can’t take credit for something MTV made but please check out this video I’ll be uploading in a few weeks. 9/11 In Real Time (2022) Final trailer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kOiRJv3KYjU.html
This was back in the day where the phrase bad publicity = good publicity was king. Now people get cancelled by haters, just because those haters think that they have to be entertained by said person they’re cancelling. Fuck I hate the mentality people have over this past decade. And in most cases, cancelations win, back then it was suck it up buttercup.
The concept of "cancel culture" has been around for decades though. Not the term, or the modern way it's done and used, but the concept of attempting to end someone's career and inciting backlash and boycotting has been around for ages. It may seem new due to the internet age but similar situations have happened since historical antiquity. Even to Em himself in his earlier career, with protests and censoring/being black-balled by the industry to an extent.
@@silvergust I think because the people who don’t care are the people just shutting up and buying the stuff. And sales do still mean something today but I just feel like the number of sales was a good argument for Eminem. Now it’s how much love Vs hate you get on social media seems to be the new metric.
2:36 It's amazing how people throw the first stone by running their mouths and then pretend to suffer from amnesia when you reply. Regardless of whether he took it personally or not you shouldn't be handing out your opinion like flyers if you aren't able to take criticism, especially if nobody asked you.
I disagree. I think Eminem is strong enough that he would tell the Twitterverse to go fuck themselves. LGBTQ was attacking TMMLP when it first came out and though I strongly support gay rights, you can't trample the right to free speech in the process. It's the same mentality the conservatives had when they went after Marilyn Manson in the wake of Columbine in 1999.
well back in 2000 eminem was able to avoid getting cancelled partly because of incredible talent overshadowed it and partly because he was one of the most interesting public persona seen in years. nobody who is "getting cancelled" today is close to his level.
Man that was amazing. Did you hear the way they were talking about the F-word. They....didn't give ......a f*ck. Now Dr Dre would be on his hands and knees like an F-word begging sorry with eminem beside em.
Remember when TRL was one of the big ways to see how popular a song was? Now MTV. How is still a channel? think they have MTV Classic channel that still has music videos. If that means anything ??
It was a diss... its supposed to seem serious. Do you really think Dre had male partners over the years, and not a single one came forward for an easy paycheck on tmz or some shit? Dre isn't bi or gay or w/e
The whole homophobic thing should be up to the person, its ridiculous people who say we are all free to be who we want to be but then get upset if people dont like or agree with you 😂 i personally don't care what anyone is into (az long as not hurting anyone obviously) but i also think if people don't like something they should be allowed to as well. Freedom of opinions
You need to go read the lyrics if he is rapping to fast for you to catch them. His writing & wordplay is better then ever now !!! Not every track is at that Rap God , Godzilla, Killer Remix type speed.
Tell me you.dont listen to Em without telling me. He has plenty of tracks thst aren't fast. Gtfoh hater. And to the clown complaining about dad jokes, he always had some of that. He can get away with it cause he is dope.
Haha... Will is no gangster. Smack poor Chris rock does make him tough. He hit the one guy who was too good a soul and too professional to hit him back
" Homophobic Nah you'r just heterophobic" LITERALLY ME WITH MY STRAIGHT AND GAY FRIENDS 😭😅❤ MAN I JUST LOVE EM, IF RAKIM SPOKE ABOUT YOU AND ONLY SAID GOOD THINGS, i got none to say 😅❤☮️ God'mc and a stan forever to death ❤
I happen to be one & I've been a fan for years. It's called having a sense of humor lol. Too many ppl are uptight now. Typing that comment makes me feel old asf but I've barely entered my 20s lmao. Times a flying lol
Being single and available is important for a new artists, that's why he kept it a secret but also she talked about his dis towards his new wife and then started talking about wife beaters and bad relationships, associating that negative shit with em. I get being annoyed at her
@@OAwesomeOthe thing is, she never said on that interview "don't listen to Eminem's music" she gave her opinion about his lyrics on a song that HE made, also when she started talking about domestic violence and all that, she said that she doesn't condone it because she went through that environment in her family, meaning that she watched her dad beat her mom and and Eminem took it the wrong way
@@Andy-td8eo Again... Associating em and his music with that shit when she was suppose to be talking about an artist and music she liked... It was completely uncalled for. She choose em and then she segwayed into her own thing and introduced him to people that didn't know him as a wife beater, without context to his music/art/life... It was completely uncalled for and obviously she didn't mean anything by it, she is just a total moron, lol.
He didn't take it the wrong way.she was using Eminem's situation as an example for whatever point she was making..picked his video but then trashed him
