We go from a little cartoon owl winking at the camera, to a realistic looking owl with a close-up of an actual owl's blinking eye, to a stylized drawing of just an owl's eye. I always like it when logos manage to keep some kind of consistency or common theme even as they change dramatically.
Wow I've never seen any foreign television channel logos like that before. It's pretty interesting. It should not be confused with an unrelated American international television channel MTV which is owned by ViacomCBS, you know. Good evening from Ireland.
It was until the late 80's that Finland had more than two channels. Before that, MTV rented air space from YLE (a couple of hours per day). Then Kolmoskanava (TV3) started. in 1993, MTV bought most of its shares and Kolmoskanava was renamed MTV3.
Until 1997, there was a cable channel called Paikallis-TV (PTV, literally: "Local TV"). In 1997, it was renamed Nelonen, which then became the fourth nationwide television channel in Finland.
The variant at 1:10 is much more appealing compared to the 1975 variant. In the 1975 variant, the color scheme is dull and very plain, I was glad that they revamped it in 1983.
