My father was mechanic in sovhos in soviet time and said when you bought car or sovhos got tractor then coming out factory the most of the machines didn't work properly because of many parts were with defects. So first thing was to take it to pieces and change scrap parts and tune engines. One time he said that one machine had some oiling problem in engine and somebody in factory hadn't bored oil holes in the block. Soviet quality! Of course exported machines had much higher quality control so maybe it wasn't the case tractors sent abroad.
