This is a great move to defend the round kick and return a kick swiftly. The kick is done to the same side as your opponent’s attacking leg, so they cannot defend in time, as their leg is trying to reset and recover.
From a basic orthodox Muay Thai stance, lift your lead leg outwards to block the round kick with your upper shin. Make sure to build a wall with your shin bone and connected to the arm. Once the kick is block, immediately switch your feet to load the rear kick. Using a “bounce” motion from the floor, quickly return fire with a same side round kick.
