At first I thought he was talking about turning body, which is basics of boxing, but then I realized it's a secret. Turning the body plus dropping body weight. In boxing we have combos and we normally do not drop our weight on every punch. If I'm not mistaken

Thank you for this secrete ;) So little attention is given to putting weight into shots in gyms. It's mentioned but rarely with this important emphasis. I like that you showed how to practice this on the bag too. I've seen the bag used in this way many times, but the point of it is rarely mentioned. A very good video. Thank you.

i learn old school muai Thai when I was 10yrs old.. i go to every martial tournament. they mostly throw towels. not that I'm good. it's because Muai Thai is vry practical. old school muai Thai never really pull back much. every strike is hard. similar to kyokushin which I had done. both are very practical and respected. long live muai Thai. 🙏

it is not only the body weight but also the connection to the ground. this is one of the important "secrets" in tai chi. the connection within the body and the connection to the ground. shoulders to hips, elbows to knees and hands to feet. right hand gets the foundation of the left foot. this is why tai chi practitioners practice very slow. so they have time to analyze the position and the force that it can let go through. tai chi practitioners often practise zhan zhuang, which means standing like a tree for a long time. my maximum was almost one hour. muay thai practitioners could learn from that as well. also mentally this is an enormous challenge. the first time that i tried it my legs started to shake after 5 minutes. there are some introduction videos of Lam Kam Chuen on youtube. i did this with other tai chi masters and grandmaster Chen Xiaowang when i was in China

Speed, accuracy and footwork for positioning. If your opponent has a high guard, you kick them in the gut, if they have a low guard, you punch or elbow them in the head. Relying on power will make your bouts much harder. Thais love the clinches, stay out of clinches, they sap your strength. The idea of power training is not to overpower your opponent, it is to develop explosive power, to focus that power at the optimum point of the strike. Accuracy and speed is more important than power.
