I like to mix it into one like you said but I call it American Muay Thai. Traditional Muay thai with the American kickboxing footwork and head movement and boxing sweet science mixed with karate kicks like spinning back kicks, front side kicks etc! Boxing, Muay Thai, karate mixed! American Muay Thai 💚💚💚💙💙💙
@@Asraeksthink foot work would be different and the way they may punch because remember they are a combo of boxing and kicks. Kicks would be different to I believe.

@@intoxicatedbarbarian4021 it stayed because karatekas were paying off thai fighters to throw their matches, then they went back to japan to never engage with thai fighters again. in K-1 karatekas and kickboxers got absolutely destroyed by people like Buakaw
@@andusz5518 many kickboxers have proven themselves in k1 and its disgracefull to even say that. buakaw got knocked out by yosihiro sato a japanese kickboxer dummy. and buakaw got his "revenge" on an inactive for a very long time yosihiro on a fight that was on really short notiice and buakaw still competeing. you disrespect both martial arts by saying that
I feel like Muay Thai also takes range control. They are really good at keeping to at the exact distance they need you at. Whether by closing or creating distance.
I’m a kick-boxer myself but I’ve practiced Muay Thai for a while both styles as lethal as eachother it’s dependent on yourself and you’re mentality how good you become
They can definitely be compared. Most kickboxers get wrecked by muay Thai However dutch kickboxers have defeated muay thai fighters. Dutch kickboxing is a different beast
@@m.g.6394 as I said before it’s down to the individual person I know Thai fighters who would fuck up some kick-boxers and I know some kick-boxers who would fuck up some Thai fighters
Kickboxing is like a guy who wanted to be cool like his older Muay Thai brother but didnt want to hurt their elbows so they still get stomped on at family reunions
Good shit.... Not tryna Glaze.. Getting into training myself n I find this inspirational. Because of how far you prolly came to not only show off that killer speed but to REPRESENT yourself defensively, respectfully, when needed.
Yeah but imagine there is Jimmy Smith and his identical clone. One Jimmy takes taekwondo and the other takes muay thai, and then they fight. The muay thai jimmy will mop the floor with the taekwondo Jimmy.
@FlorityFlora hahaha as someone who actually has trained both, yeah haha pretty much. But, still, if you're an expert taekwondo guy who can maintain the distance and deal with boxers throwing hands, you can take on a guy in MT that's not much good at his art, especially if there's a height and weight advantage. That's my point. Haha got me tho!
@FlorityFlora okay, cool, so that is what you said. I thought so, but I was clarifying in case I might have misunderstood. Yeah, I totally agree and admit to that haha
I have been practicing Kickboxing , through the help of RU-vid , but after watching Muay Thai , I can clearly say that Muay Thai is more powerful than Kickboxing , (no hates for Kickboxing as it's my first martial art)
@akaenderrektypical gym bro, most professional kickboxers would fuck you up, say that to Rico verhooven or a Badr Hari, or gokhan Saki, and see where that would end you.
Kick boxing was made by a Japanese men who travel to Thailand and like may thai really much so he copy it but change some rules and style and renamed it as kickboxing then made a kickboxing centre in bangkok but then after it was famous he said that he made kickboxing by mixing French martial art with karate right after he said that to the social there is Thai people who are not happy with it so one of them send an mail to the creator of kick boxing that "You need to change the name of kick boxing to thai boxing!" But he refuse so many thai people use a guns to shoot inside the kick boxing centre until he get out of Thailand,he didn't died but he got back to Japan and make K-1
@@wtmusic515 yea, i've been doing it for six years it takes a minute to get into (from what i've seen, i help with the less advanced classes where i go) but i genuinely don't remember me doing it pre covid honestly but for what it's worth since i really just got back into it in july, i'm getting good again, finally although do keep in mind (i don't know how old you are, i legally cant do wrist locks or anything) it's more or less a battle with the same techniques i don't know if you've done research or anything but that's the one important thing. when you first start, get good at those basic techniques, especially stuff like guard passes. *then* after you did basic submits go into fancy ones but now i'm rambling on again, so.
Not really. More like English Muay Thai. Dutch Kickboxing is like an in-fighter boxer trying to apply their knowledge to a kickboxing fight.@@rockguy132
I like your kickboxing style, it takes a decent amount of influence from taekwondo or karate but modifies things like the upper body strikes and guard to be more practical, which is refreshing considering a lot of kickboxing I usually see is just Muay Thai but with a larger focus on punches and speed

because kickboxing and kick thai are made of muay thai techniques, muay thai wins in every condition. muay thai is the grizzly when kickboxing is a plushy teddy bear.
Only basing on limited knowledge, but wasn't kickboxing developed as a response to Muai Thai embarrassing karate? Though are we talking better overall or against each other? How long have you been doing each and which do you prefer?
No kickboxing is from karate and Thai boxing from Muay Thai(the real „Muay Thai“ from Thailand is in Many country’s illegal and Thai boxing is Muay Thai with a bit different rules)
@@christos2594 I think you misread my comment. I was saying that Kickboxing was developed by karate experts who were tired of Muay Thai beating karate.
And I don’t know why Americans should be embarrassed because karate didn’t work that good in fights like Muay Thai karate was never created to fight in tournaments Like Muay Thai and at that time kickboxing was created they compared mostly karate with boxing Muay Thai wasn't a big deal outside of Thailand back then
yeah, im convinced that a wrestler with good hands and head movement is solid. If you can strike and keep the fight standing(and get up if downed), what more do you need?
They mostly meant by footwork and jabs, but I agree that low kicks + teeps and leg jams/nebs are some of the best spacing tools in all of striking martial arts. The only thing that can rival a MT guy's teeps when it comes to range control is an expert shotokan karateka
In reality, muay thai is a style of kickboxing and what is commonly adressed as kickboxing is usually the glory or k1 rule set. Every style has some sort of lacking, advantages and disadvantages, situational superiorities and fighters should borrow from other styles to be a complete kickboxer. Most people here agree that muay thai is the superior kickboxing style but dutch style fighters have been knocking out some of the best thai fighters out there recently with their boxing because thai fighters lack in that aspect.
What an uninformed take 😂😂 Kickboxing is a form of muay thai. Kickboxing is basically like muay matt style muay thai. Kickboxing is dumbed down muay thai. Kickboxing was literally invented by Japanese karate practitioner who combined Kyokushin with muay thai LMAO
Lmao please, 2nd tier muay thai fighters become kickboxing champs easily like Buakaw, Sittichai, Petpanmaroung, Kaew, etc. 😂😂😂 Dutck kickboxing is just knock off muay thai with slight variation LOLOL Go invent your own original martial art
@@user-pd9ju5dk5s wrong. Kickboxing name is basically like wrestling. What is commonly adressed as wrestling is actually greco-roman wrestling but wrestling is actually a genre of fighting just like kickboxing and grappling.
@@DenterNu My guy, kickboxing was invented around 70s, way after muay thai was an established sport. Know what you're talking about b4 humiliating yourself
@@user-pd9ju5dk5s I explained myself very clearly, no need to explain any further. Also those fighters you mentioned earlier are not your average muay thai fighters at all, all of them are among the best fighters in the world. in fact buakaw among them, who is considered to be one of the greatest fighters ever in any martial arts discipline, has only been knocked out once and it was by the japanese k1 kickboxer yoshihiro sato.
Kickboxing : Punches, kicks, footwork, head move movement. Mauy thai: the clinch, elbows, knees. Kick catches. both: Sweeps, Conditioning, effectiveness. I gave category base on which one has more dynamic or versatile techniques in the area. I have train in both arts. I have always loved Both. I favor kickboxing though. I never understood why people downplay kickboxing based off some instances that happened in the 70s, but they ignor 50 years of history since then. They also overlook the success kickboxers have also had against Muay thai fighters.
I'm trying to do Muay, Thai and kickboxing at the same time for how much I hear them being compared I figured might as well just do both. What's the harm?
So you think in a ranking they should only include things that are in both styles? By that stupid logic, if you compare MMA and Boxing you should only look at punches.
Tbf, if you play a more defensive style of kickboxing, you can null many muay thai techniques. The opposite is also true tho, so its up to the fighter i guess
Но самое главное в видео, это пасхалочка) Футболка от Таэквон-до) То есть весь скил парня от Таэквон-до) Так что в противострянии этих двух стилей побеждает третий - и это Таэквон-до! 🥋 Таэквон! 👊
As someone who trained both yea, this is fair except more dangerous, like yea it can be but depends on the person using it mostly also dont really get the defense iq
