“I do love nothing in this world so well as you - is not that strange?”
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
May 29 - October 27 | Festival Theatre
Opening Night Performance: June 16
The story follows Beatrice and Benedick, two quick-witted and sarcastic individuals who are happily single, but whose friends believe they would make a great romantic match. Set in the Early Modern world, an era of ever-changing attitudes towards marriage and power, the play presents a society at once filled with progressive feminist impulses and countervailing forces rooted in traditional patriarchal values. With his astonishing wit and insight, Shakespeare explores the complexities that underlie these growing social tensions.

The fraud accusation that Shakespeare himself did not write is not wrong. Shakespeare was an actor. But Shakespere did not write what he claimed to have being provably illiterate. William Shakespeare signed documents with an X. There is zero proof of his literacy to anyone of his day. Shakespeare the actor existed but William Shakespere the genius playwright, author and poet was most certainly not Shakespeare the broke uneducated, illiterate actor who was ok at memorizing lines and great at knocking up women. The playwright, genius, author, poet, writer was a Black man of celebrated genius and acclaim.
