@@kolbytaylor9504 CREDENCE TO THE GREAT STATE OF ARKANSAS WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT I AM THE SAME AGE AS DATE IS KRIST NOVOSELIC A LOT OF PEOPLE DID NOT AND STILL DO NOT LIKE THE SPANISH SAID THEY SAY THEY IN FEEL THAT THEY WERE OVERRATED DAVE GROHL IS A GREAT DRUMMER HE IS NO IDIOT AND HE WAS ATTRACTIVE...... DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR COMMENT MEANS WHAT YOU WERE TRYING TO CONVEY NOBODY WAS USING ANYBODY IT'S NOT COOL TO DO THAT IT'S BLOODY SICK
Interviewer: Now Kurt have you ever had a dream that you, um, you had, your, you- you could, you’ll do, you- you wants, you, you could do so, you- you’ll do, you could- you, you want, you want them to do you so much you could do anything? Kurt: What
this was a good interview, kurt seemed like he was almost in a good mood. Because he hated interviews he always seems so miserable in them. He's in a better mood when he's with the band, not stuck being the center of attention. AND he looks good in black. Man I love him
kurt was such a respectful guy, he didnt even look at his smartphone during interviews, he put all his attention to the interview's mic and engage with the questions 100%
He relates to so many teens and young adults because he was one of us all the way, people who felt alienation, people who’s parents divorced, people who had trouble growing up with good self esteem and people who liked to express their feelings through a type of art amongst a lot of other things that teens go through
In another interview Nirvana had with this guy, Kurt walked off. He yawns a few times for about the last 5 minutes then gets up and walks off. It's actually funny asf... especially Krist's reaction. I love watching interviews with these guys and Alice In Chains...they like to fuck around and be sarcastic etc but if asked the right questions, they're really detailed. Inciteful and interesting yet funny asf👌🏻. Plus I could watch Layne and Kurt for hours on end🥰
Well, important people, things, art and music aren't only relevant in their time- they can affect us hugely any time, and out of the blue. I've had same experience lately with Nirvana and just NOW getting really sad that Kurt took his life... So the past is part of us too.... So many people still love Nirvana, too... so....
@AnarchyBurger it was a cigarette you can clearly see, I roll my own cigarettes it's more cost efficient, you can see him put the pouch of tobacco in his pocket
Its really hard to describe just how much Krist's brilliant sense of humour was the absolute core of the band in many ways. His absurdity and light-heartedness is kind of the string that held it all together.
I like watching old Nirvana interviews. As a band they had a chemistry that was laid back and fun, cynical and intelligent. Similar to how the Beatles related to journalist back in the day w/ their wit and charm. Good to see Kurt laugh and smile(rare) a few times during this interview. Kurt's answer to the question about the title of "Nevermind" reminds me of Flippers song "Brainwash". If you've heard "Brainwash" you'll understand, or maybe not.
The shit eating grin that Kurt gave Dave when he said "it was a rockumentary" 🤣 says so much about them and their attitude towards the media and how seriously they take it. Love them
I love this interview, it puts their three personalities on full display. Dave is the quiet shy guy who recedes into the background. Krist is the talkative, dorky goofball of the group. Kurt is the cool, collected and charismatic guy.
i think grunge has a possibility of coming back in the near future, it was only around for what 10 years? People are gonna get sick of our current mainstream i think
@@natestrayhorn1578 I love the music, but grunge music sucks in terms of values and influence on young people. It's a good thing it didn't last too long. I hated Nirvana when I was a teenager. I enjoyed the music, but seeing all the privileged middle class white teens pretending to be depressed and dark because they thought it looked cool was really pathetic.
3:07 Interviewer: "Were there uh were there things that were more obvious in that album th-than others, were there, not statements, I hate talking about statments, but uh especially that first *cough* sorry that first song that first statement, th-th-that first video?" Kurt: "What"
I find it so weird how I love this band they are so good I literally love them so much here I sm on a school night watching nirvana stuff concerts and interviews preparing myself for tmr 😢 RIP KURT YOU WERE THE BEAST
it's funny how they were trying to wreck every interview they gave yet they were so nice with the journalists they had in front of them that they didn't look comfortable at all when doing so... forever missed!
Jojos25 I’ve said this to my brother There’s a line in a beastie boys song. “To sweet to be sour, to nice to be mean” But the Sex Pistols made a thing about fucking up interviews. I think initially it was spontaneous. But then became part of there act. But when I watch Kurt. I think part of him wants to be rude offensive etc but it doesent 100% fit his personality
Once Kurt's stomach issues got sorted he became a lot more patient and less cynical in his interviews. There is a distinct line between him being irritable 91/early 92 to patient mid 92/93, and more introspective before answering. I've always preferred his later interviews. Krist just carries them in his early days, whilst he was cynical to a degree he was also amazingly articulate, funny and thought provoking. I dread what those early interviews would have been like if he had a similar introverted personality to Kurt and Dave back then.
Umm how about falling in love, getting married, and expecting a baby in the same timeline you mentioned? Nobody knows anything for sure but it's a chance the stomach thing was BS or exaggerated. The stuff I mentioned above can make anybody much more "patient" as well. He says it himself in that 1993 interview on the beach front
Most of the questions the interviewer asked in the video left me scratching my head, I was like, 'huh'?, his questions were kind of wordy. I found it funny towards the beginning of the interview when the interviewer finished his question, Kurt was just like, "what?" I thought I was the only one confused with some of the questions the interviewer asked.
Kurt was obviously already on the H by the time of this interview but he wasnt strung out yet, he still looks like he's having a good time and looks healthy. Actually, if you line up his journal around this time period it mentions that around november 1991 (the time of this interview) he started using heroin regularly to soothe his stomach pain. all though he wrote he had new (medicine) that was extremely effective it was definitely heroin he was referring to. Thats probably why he feels so good, he's finally feeling a little bit normal.
I’ve skyways liked Kurt in this interview. He always said this was the best period and you can see the difference in him. He’s funny, open , nerdy and doesn’t seem depressed at all and he’s looking cool as fuck.
Yeah, it must have been the most exciting time for the band. They just finished Nevermind. The world was just starting to find out about them but this was still right before they became megastars and Kurt was broken by the pressures of fame. Sad to say but if he's stayed on Subpop he might still be alive.
You can already see it the distain for interviewers as soon as the camera rolls. He basically says "we don't want to be interviewed." Andddd now it's forever been immortalised in history.
2:40 Kurt was so proud of himself there look at him XD also I've watched as many interviews ive been able to find and he smiles most in this one. If there's one with more uh please tell me ;-;
"Every month I get a bank statement...and, I'm usually overdrawn. 😔"...I am positive he quite likely NEVER experienced being at a negative bank balance once 1991 came to an end. "Smells like Teen Spirit" alone is successful and legendary enough to live rather comfortably on, Royalties-wise, certainly. 🖤
Fair play to this guy, he actually asked pretty good questions - or good follow up questions (even if he didn't articulate them well), and genuinely listened to what they said, and didn't push it when they were sarcastic.
