same here, women staring at my forehead and hairline to see where it was 'melted', or dropping snide comments that I wasnt being '100%' or accusing me of being dishonest. some would sit behind me at gatherings to 'check' for tracks, clamps, combs etc, then somone coming to me secretly later to tell me women are bitching about me, wow. nothing against those who wear wigs etc, but dont assume that everyone is. smh

Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES from hell❗️ *What is the Gospel?* The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Good morning from California! I wanted to let you know how much I truly enjoy your videos. After having relaxed hair for most of my life, I went natural a few days before my 35th birthday. I did the big chop and I did not enjoy short hair at all! That was 9 years ago and I have to say, I’m over MY natural hair. I think natural hair is beautiful but I’m ready for a change. Once I started thinking about relaxing again, I joined your Facebook group. I had a big realization because of you. When my hair was relaxed, I took care of it horribly! The relaxer wasn’t the problem. My habits were. I want to thank you for taking the time to educate women on how to care for relaxed hair. I’m in the process of searching for a good stylist and plan to go back to relaxers once I find one. Thanks again!💛

Ladies all of our hair grows. I have had long hair all my life. I get it from my families genes. We never did anything special or used certain products to make it grow. What we do is keep it from breaking off. I relax my hair about every 2 months, so I wash and deep condition my hair once a week. Sometimes I blow dry and sometimes not. I'm not one to abuse my hair. I don't do braids or cornrows because that hurts. When using any type of heating tool I always use some type of heat protectant. I do recommend having your hair trimmed. My version of a trim is at least 1 inch. Now I know some folks will disagree and that's fine. That's just what I do. Writing this posts reminds me of a picture I took with a bunch of friends when we were about 8 years old and had visited our zoo. Although it wasn't planned but all of our Mothers put our hair in 2 pigtails and all 6 of us had long hair and the pigtails went past all of our shoulders. And for the record I am not mixed. I am a very dark skinned woman. Like I said, keeping your hair from breaking off is key. If you have to relax your hair every few weeks because you have regrowth, that means your hair is growing!

I nearly died laughing when I saw you part your hair to show you have no weaves in. That was literally my life when I used to wear my hair relaxed. Friends who were unconvinced that it was my real hair would casually lean over and accidentally run their fingers in my scalp even though I protested it was mine. 😂. That was a while ago, I've been natural for about 6 years and very happy with the results of my hair journey, managing to grow 12 inches from scratch. I'm thinking of relaxing again and am petrified to take the plunge after finally figuring out how to handle my natural hair. When I was in living Calgary, because it was so dry, I could flat iron my natural hair and it would keep for two weeks. I could let it out, it was beautiful. Now I live in Jamaica near to the beach with the humidity hovering about 70 percent on average, my hair has become a giant mop. I discovered a trick that works for me though. After the flat ironing effects start wearing off after a few days and my hair begins to curl up, I part my hair in two from ear to ear, do the back in small plaits, and scoop the front over the plaits. It cuts down the puffiness and you can't tell from the front that that the back is in plaits. I'm thinking of doing that to help stretch my hair when I finally pluck up the courage to relax. Thanks for making these videos, they are definitely helping with the decision to resume relaxing.

I live in FL and was natural for 4yrs. I relaxed again mainly because I wanted a bob but the heat definitely had a hand in how I styled my hair, lol. One thing that was different in being relaxed a second time around and after having been natural is that I knew better on how to take care of my hair. Take your time to make your decision but I figured I'd share. 💜

Omg, that comment literally made my mouth drop, like what?! I've been on a hair journey for years some things I do the same some different but I can say that the "high end" products has made an absolute difference in my hair. The minute I didn't have to moisturize and seal on such a regular basis (rarely at all actually) is one reason among many that I knew those products work. I still use drugstore products but the majority are salon. Your hair is GORGEOUS, lol. It definitely makes a difference in listening to your hair, mine loves hydrolyzed anything and I also noticed products with betrimonium chloride in the first few rows does well in my hair. Great video!!

@@pristay7 Let's see, my staples right now are a lot of chi products. I like the keratin shampoo and conditioner and their total protect leave- in, that's actually one of my favorites. The Paul Mitchell tea tree lavender shampoo and conditioner is really good because it doesn't have any protein in it. I also really like the AG bb cream leave-in because it does like 10 things in one and it's similar to the chi total protect. The Paul Mitchell skinny serum is a must have for relaxed hair. I have a problem when it comes to buying leave-ins, lol. My favorite brands at the moment are chi and Paul Mitchell, they have a product for anything that you're looking for. Check ulta because they always do a lot of bogo half off on salon products. Redken is another well rounded brand as well. If you don't mind spending the money olaplex products are great for relaxed hair especially the #3, I definitely noticed a huge difference in my hair when I started using it. Hope that was helpful.

Dom, people will say whatever they want to, just speak your truth. On the flip side, there have been people who pass-off weaves and hair pieces as their own, so people have become skeptical. Love your content 🤎🤗! Keep doing what you're doing.

I truly appreciate your honesty. Congratulations by the way for over 30,000 subscribers 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏. I am learning my hair now and pretty much doing what you said, listening to my hair and not everyone else. I did relax over a year ago, but did not really know how to take care of it, so I went back natural. I want to relax again, however, I will look for a really great stylist. I am working on taking better care of my body from the inside out and my health, which includes my hair. I realize my diet plays a big part in my hair, including supplements. Eventually, I will be able to afford to get my hair done once or twice a month as well as buy products, including foods with the best ingredients. One thing I have learned, people will hate on you for no reason at all, other than the fact of jealousy and they are unhappy with their lives. We can only make a better life and world for ourselves and those who choose to listen, change and reach for the same goals. I look forward to your semi-permanent dye video. Keep growing Dominique. Blessings and much love sister♥️♥️♥️

Dominique, I love, love the video, and you are glowing! I appreciate you saying what is working for you. The takeaway for me, is for people to put in the work for themselves, and learn what's best for them. I think your haters are mad about their own lives. Continue to live your best life!!! Take care and be well. 😊😊😊

Dominique your hair is beautiful. It's unfortunate that a lot of black women have to work so hard to learn and understand their hair and so it's easy to resent a woman who achieves that success. Keep it up- you're doing such an importantt service that our community needs.

Hi Dom! If you have haters…you are doing things RIGHT😀. Just ignore the noise and continue to be the BLESSING to the healthy hair community. Have you ever experienced your hair shedding? If so, what did you do to make it stop?

🎉30,000 CONGRATULATIONS 🎊👍🏾👍🏾 Thank you so much for sharing so much information and links to potential good products! I'm older and thinning at the top and sides so it's been a serious disheartening struggle for me to find what my hair likes. I was told that I NEED to work on my inside health diligently for inside out wellness! I subscribed 😊🙏🏿💚💙

1. People are silly. There is no reason why you should have to prove your hair is YOUR hair. It's beautiful, they are just jealous. :-) 2. I agree that stretching your relaxers out does not work well for all people. My sister gets her hair relaxed 2 - 3 times a year. However, if I go more than 8 weeks it looks reeeallllyy rough and it challenging to comb. I have followed you for years and have always felt you were honest with sharing your experiences. Thank you for your tips and sharing what works best for you! Pretty sure I'm going to try S-Curl now. Lol!!

No one asks me if mine is real because it is grey, lol. I do use nice hair care products and since the pandemic my hair has grown several inches past my bra strap. I can’t use a lot of protein either. I use great products, super good but light oils, deep condition and don’t handle my hair too much either. It does get tangly and I do think it is because of the length. I use a wide tooth comb because a brush doesn’t work on this length. I also relax every 8-10 weeks or you’re right it just doesn’t look like I want it to. Great video, pay attention to your hair.

Congratulations on the success with your channel!!! I’m so happy I discovered your channel. Although I don’t relax my hair, I really enjoy all the tips.Speaking of tips, my hair doesn’t like to be handled too much and I found wrapping my hair to not work that well for me. Like you, I typically use clips or put up in a high pony atop my head , then my Silk cal. I either use a few couple clips or pin curl my all my hair and it turns out great!!

Hi there. I just watched one of your previous videos, re: the steps you have taken to get your hair to heal and grow. I often watch you on t.v., which prevents me from liking your posts. So I jumped on here to "like" it (well this one) and to tell you and thank you for telling us about Scurl!!! My hair is evey very weird and acts out horribly with lots of products. I never know what to expect, and I lose gobs of hair each time I wash it. So I'm VERY reluctant to try new products. But I went and got it today, and just tried it on my pony tail, and it was Great!!! I thank you soooo much. I really needed this, as my hair tangles sooo bad!!!I think that out of all of you guys, your content has been the most helpful. Your a perfect balance of confidence and humbleness. I really enjoy you. Thanks again. ♥️

My dear people are just reflecting their own insecurities! My hair has also thrived during the last year and a half and I have had so called friends make comments to me about a weave. No shade I wore weaves for years and loved them last one was in 2012. So to have a "friend" make a comment like that was like Bish please! You look great, you are beautiful and articulate and I hate to say it but you are not a light skinned girl so you cannot possibly have long hair. It is self hate and I have no time for it. The way I look at it and confirmed by my doctors healthy inside means healthy outside: exercise, eat nutrient rich diet and good habits will do it every time. The best revenge to paraphrase the Bard is being fabulous!

My sister’s hair is longer than your’s and her daughter’s hair is waist length. Their hair looks natural because they were blessed with that grade of hair that doesn’t break easily like mine. Your hair looks beautifully natural to me. I would never think your hair didn’t grow from your scalp.🌸

Your hair is thriving and getting better every day! Thanks to you I’ve learned to really listen to my hair. After a 3, almost 4 month stretch, I realized my hair doesn’t like a stretch past 3 months on the date or it starts breaking like crazy. And after yearssss of using protein products or products containing protein I realized my hair hates protein! It loves to be washed and deep conditioned weekly and simply wrapped at night. It doesn’t love the blow dryer but lovesss my ceramic tourmaline flat iron on 395 and not a degree more lol. I went my whole 3 months with great hair everyday for the 1st time in years. I really had to listen and be patient and now I feel like finally my hair too will start to thrive🥰 _also thank you for the UNITE detangling spray recommendation…what a game changer!!_

You rock💜💜. From one bougie girl to another I really enjoy your videos and especially this video. I had cultured locks that I grew out for 20 years down to my backside. Actually I grew them twice down to my backside and I got so many compliments on them. Then after 20 years I was done. LOL and now I’m growing out a beautiful Afro and a rock wigs and every color under the sun and occasion. What do I tell people is this you could have “Natural hair and a processed mind”Just do you and be true to yourself. Your hair is only a part of who you are and at the end of the day it’s really not that serious.

New subscriber 👋🏾 I’m loving your videos, and I can totally relate to your hair journey. I recently had a major set back from stretching. And I was in tears🥺 going from mid back to past my shoulders. I realize 8-10 weeks is definitely my cap at stretching. Your videos has definitely encouraged and made me feel better. I love the No combing and no wrapping method. I’ll see how that works for me….thank you!!🙏🏾
