Mucillage and Toxic algae - Mucillagine e Alga tossica - Ostreopsis ovata - intotheblue.it 

This year too we are witnessing the now common and usual phenomenon of the inflorescence of marine mucilage along the coasts of our sea. At the same time as the mucilage, however, an excessive proliferation of the microalgae Ostreopsis cf. Ovata is also being recorded. These two phenomena should not be connected or at least should not occur at the same time so frequently.
Anche quest'anno stiamo assistendo all' ormai comune e consueto fenomeno dell' infiorenscenza di mucillagine marina lungo le coste del nostro mare. Contestualmente alla mucillagine si sta però registrando anche una eccessiva proliferazione della microalga Ostreopsis cf. Ovata. Questi due fenomeni non dovrebbero essere collegati o quantomeno non dovrebbero presentarsi contestualmente in maniera così frequente.
