Muddy Waters is such a natural.... he's fluid. Relaxed. No acrobatics, just easy natural. I do like high energy acrobatic musicians too because its fun to watch wild bands. But its nice to see old school natural chill like Waters
Yeah, big difference from somebody like Eddie Van Halen, dude was sprinting across stage while soloing. Man had those high kicks nailed too. Van Halen is a really fun band to watch live recordings of.
A LOT of white American and British rock 'n roll fans already are or end up being fans of the blues. So many white American and white British rock bands came up out of the blues, Led Zeppelin being a huge example.
Mary that's why He's the Godfather of the Blues, Howlin' 🐺 called it crying strings. He is my Don, 1815 West Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, Illinois--😎✌️😎-The 1815 Club...
I am going to put that on a canvas in oil paint. A very big canvas. And I'm not one to hang platitudes or chalkboards on my walls. And I believe in God the Father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit, Amen!
The absolute most famous/important guitar riff in the history of the blues. Maybe even the history of music. This one riff inspired a whole helluva lot of people.
@@brenankean6634 Dude, just stop. Even if you knew absolutely nothing about the blues or music and you just watched the movie Cadillac Records then you'd know your comment is complete and utter BS. The writer of "Hoochie Coochie Man", Willie Dixon, created the famous 'Stop Time Riff' and he did it and recorded it on this song first in 1954. Afterwards it has been described as being sewn into the very fabric of what makes the blues. Hence why I say, this one guitar riff is probably the most famous and influential riff in the history of modern/popular music. ✌🏽🤡
@@DoctorSess Apparently you don't got it. You also sound foolish as hell. Where would you get the idea that my knowledge only revolves around this one film? Because I commented on the video? Because I said that even if a person's knowledge only covered that film? No, I'm from the American Southeast where the "Blues" originated from. My father absolutely loves the Blues and his father before him loved the blues. That goes all the way back to 1926, the year my Grandfather was born. As I said in my second comment, the name of the riff is the "Stop Time Riff" and Dixon created it, named it, and was the first to record it. Then Muddy added his soul and pain from being a black share crop worker making pennies a day, being uneducated, segregated, and with little rights from the American Southeast during Jim Crowe and as they say, the rest is history. (None of that was covered in the movie, btw) Well you're wrong but I imagine you're used to that by now.
[Verse 1] The gypsy woman told my mother Before I was born I got a boy child's comin' He's gonna be a son of a gun He gonna make pretty women's Jump and shout Then the world wanna know What this all about [Chorus] But you know I'm him Everybody knows I'm him Well you know I'm the hoochie coochie man Everybody knows I'm him [Verse 2] I got a black cat bone I got a mojo too I got the Johnny Concheroo I'm gonna mess with you I'm gonna make you girls Lead me by my hand Then the world will know The hoochie coochie man [Chorus] But you know I'm him Everybody knows I'm him Oh you know I'm the hoochie coochie man Everybody knows I'm him [Verse 3] On the seventh hours On the seventh day On the seventh month The seven doctors say He was born for good luck And that you'll see I got seven hundred dollars Don't you mess with me [Chorus] But you know I'm him Everybody knows I'm him Well you know I'm the hoochie coochie man Everybody knows I'm him
Just love blues and this is what real music sounds like. Good vocals, great guitar licks, good drums and good mouth organ and piano. No noise, just pure music. \m/,

Just imagine being a young person in chicago back on those days, you probably could choose if you would see howling wolf or muddy waters live. Fuck, just imagine that. You could seat side by side with those legends. even feel the smell of those guys. See every note, every chord every fuckup. It was for sure beatiful. Cheers from Brasil!
A was fifteen and watching MTV. Saw George Thorogood talking about his influences, ranting and raving about this Muddy Waters cat. So I checked him out and I was floored by what I heard. Elements of songs rock stars would be praised for “ come up with, however, it was Muddy and other blues legends
Está canción se la dedico a un maestro del blues El señor Muddy Waters Porque él cuando le habla a una mujer No necesita groserías, ni cosas obscenas Para decirle que las ama ¡Ahí va Muddy! 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
One of my Favorite songs of all time . I can relate to this song Fasho Boy . I'm from Louisiana But I live in California and My Daddy God rest his Soul talked about Muddy Waters & Lil Walter when I was little and played there music . So this really resonates with me . I'm damn near in tears right now.
I want to accentuate how good this is and what it teaches, EVERYBODY on stage has sound that adds while not overpowering the music or any other musicians…. So sick the Maestro Muddy
I remember back in the late 70's, I went to a concert in Mexico City to see Muddy Waters and other blues legends not knowing who they were, I was new to the blues and rock music, and didn't know I was looking at the inventors of the blues and rock. In Mexico rock and blues were not generes that most people listened to in those years, and I was there enjoying the music, but not as someone who's conscious of the greatness of those artists. Today Im not an expert, but I am conscious.
Hoochie Coochie Man # 1 - Hoochie Coochie Man 'It was released by Muddy Waters as a Chess single in 1954. The song hit number three on the Billboard R&B charts in 1954 making it the most successful charting song of Muddy Water's career.' Source: Classic Rock History

R.I.P. my beloved great grandparents who I heard so many great blues artist in their house when I was a young boy but I was never into the blues the way they did...but I like jimi hendrix though

It's "John the Conqueror Root" a supposed powerful aphrodisiac in hoo-doo magic culture. The "mojo" is a little cloth bag used for carrying charms and magical items. A black cat bone was a leg bone and thought to be a powerful good luck charm. There you go!
@@higmeister haha, yeah, before hoochie coochie guy was born, a gypsy woman can't tell his mother that the boy who is about to come ("I" coz he's singing) will have a boy coming, also, gypsy woman telling singer's mom that gypsy woman herself ("I" coz she was speaking) would get a boy doesn't make as much sense as gypsy women telling singer's mom that singer's mom ("You") has a boy coming.
All that influence and Muddy died in a little beat up shack in Westmont I'll. A rich Chicago suburb. Frigging disgraceful. His son and daughter graduated from Westmont High. Around 84' same as my ex wife. This house should have been condemned. Come on bands that were so influenced. Time to pay these older black players. The way Muddy lived at the end sucked. I'm a white guy just telling the truth
That's the way most musicians end up who don't have a day job and don't save their pennies. It's pretty much impossible to make a good living just playing music. Yeah, I know he was a legend. But he was still a musician. Musicians don't get paid. We get the benefit of all of his great music, but if he was smart, Muddy would've gotten a day job. Trust me on this.
You should read Muddy's biography. It gives an entirely different description of Muddy's life and home in Westmont. You bet he got screwed over by the music business but in his later years with a decent manager he did quite well financially. Muddy is an icon. Many bands borrowed from him, just as he borrowed from the players he grew up listening to. It's all a big wheel, man, so don't get all het up about who stole what from whom.
Sorry, if you're a good businessman, you make money. Good musicians don't make money because they make good music - they make money because they sell their music. Muddy wasn't an original, so what does he owe to his influences?
i saw him at Capitol radio blues fest. It was moved from Alexandra Palace to Knebworth because of the fire. 1981? He played with Check Berry and both bands for half an hour. I've never seen footage of this. Is there any around?
A Creek Indian Woman told me I was going to have a big strong son before I ever knew his sex. She said “ You have Creek Blood”. At the time, I was only 18. I didn’t know my child’s sex or that I DO have Creek Native American in my blood. Damned if she wasn’t totally correct. Both of my sons are beautiful, but she basically told the future of my eldest.
This man is different hi has been All ready Children knowing old ,Folk song's,and Gospel, knowing songs what knowing eny body else didn't. One of those legends. One of my favorite songs
The story goes: Willie Dixon took this tune to Muddy and Muddy refused to record it saying it was some of that old Delta bullshit he left behind when he came to Chicago. Fortunately, Willie was able to talk him into it.
Muddy Waters had a strong influence on Ray Manzarek of the Doors who grew up in South Chicago. He got to listen to him in person one night when He was a teenager. Ray and two of his friends were the only white people in the bar jammed with 350! You can hear a riff from "Back Door Man" obviously borrowed from this song.
Muddy waters had so much influnce on music bro inspired the rolling stones both musically and litirary cause he came up with the name like a rollin stone. Bro an uncontested legend
