In Chicago, that means the building was built before the cities sewer system, turning the buildings ground floor into the basement.
@Dan.Solo.Chicago
@Dan.Solo.Chicago 6 месяцев назад
@@BluegillsandBeyond Yes and no. They built a retaining wall and stairs leading to the front door of your new “garden apartment”. Along with a few concrete steps for a gangway that leads to the back of the building. If you’re standing in the doorway of that garden apartment, the wall is about six or seven feet in front of you. The sidewalk is at about eye level, and there’s a little gate or railing to keep people from falling into the stairwell. A window on what was the second floor gets turned into the front door. A little porch and stairs are added, and sometimes a little bridge over the stairwell. There are little differences from house to house. Before all that, no sewers meant no plumbing. The whole neighborhood would use communal bathrooms. I’m not sure on the details of how all that worked, but that’s how it was when my grandpa was a kid. It’s not like that all over the city though. Chicago was smaller in the early 1900’s. The city’s neighborhoods kind of radiate out from the downtown area, growing chronologically like rings on a tree. ✌️

Not sure about Tartaria, but one thing I'm sure of, that this guy doesn't have any idea what was happening in the world in the 17- and 1800s, and his type is why the world refuse to change what people know of history. He'll claim there was nothing but stick-wielding hunter-gatherers 5,000 years ago, and ignore or try to debunk sites like Gobleki Tepe. Ignoring new ideas doesn't help humanity understand ancient history. Every piece of design on a star fort is specifically made to eliminate blindspots, catch enemy cannonballs, and screw up infantry. They have multiple layers because it makes it significantly harder to take a fort with multiple mutually supportive firing positions. They are V shaped because it provides cover from the enemy direction, but an enemy cannot hold the position as there is no cover in the allied direction. They are often surrounded by water because try putting a ladder up to a wall when it’s in waist-to-chest deep water, with added pointy sticks that you can’t see, all while getting shot at with muskets and cannons. They made them because they worked, and then artillery advanced enough that they stopped working, so they stopped making them and moved on to trenches and pillboxes.

And the mud covered up the evidence. After the disaster, every single person alive on Earth all agreed to never tell their children about what Earth was like pre-1850. The Mudflood theory HAS to be the most hilarious of all the ancient history conspiracy myths out there. Someone mentioned it to me once and it sounded interesting, so I went down the 'net rabbit hole learning about it but right from the start it *always* seemed quite preposterous. There are several very good channels out there which definitively debunk the theory, including totally rational explanations for why some of these houses look half-buried like that. It would be interesting if David went into more detail on the theory but to be honest, it's already been thoroughly debunked.
@biohackmasters15

Sorry, but no it has not been thoroughly debunked. There are literally buildings built on top of buildings and cities built on top of cities. There were orphan trains shipping children all over to repopulate specific areas. If you actually did any research as you say you did, then you did the wrong research and did not do it long enough. The evidence is beyond overwhelming and its global. I've traveled the world, and I know what I've seen with my own eyes!

What are you trying to do with your video? Is this supposed to be criticism of what the people say in the videos that you’ve included in your video? You still did not give any logical reason as to why any sane architect would design houses with their first, and sometimes even second and third floors under the level of the street. You still didn’t give any good reason as to why the windows only stick out from up under the ground halfway. Maybe when you can properly explain this then make a video. Such buildings exist I can confirm, because I have seen many myself. I was born and raised in Russia, and came to America when I was 13. I’ve also lived in Azerbaijan Baku because my father is half Armenian and this is where his families from, and you can see such buildings there too. You can clearly see that the windows only stick out of the ground halfway. The same I’ve seen in New York. So you’re going to tell me that that’s not true? These buildings exist. Why don’t you explain that instead of being a child and making fun of what the person in your video says without giving a proper logical explanation as to why these buildings exist

I don't knownhow those people think or if they think at all. Don't they really never check any facts? What about physics and very basic geology? F Floods don't come from nothing. They always have an origin. For example heavy rainfall on the upper end of a valley can cause a flood inside the valley. Or a hurricane or tsunami can cause a flood on the shore. There are more reasons and all of tehemc an be explained when you know the terrain. When there is nothing where a flood could have come from, the flood did not happen. Flood deposits, especially when they are not very old, are very easy to identify in the ground. It is called stratigraphy. No flood deposits visible? No flood happened. If there was a flood, it is highly unlikely that it effected only a few building. So, just have a look at the building on the other side of the road. And then at buildings some 300 or 500 meters up and down the road. Do they have the same suspicous detail? If only one single building of the same or older age does not, the flood did not happen. There are more methods to check if a flood was there. These buildings all look like between maybe 80 and 300 years old. How could a huge mud flood get covered up when it happened so recently? It is totally impossible that nobody witnessed and recorded the news. No eye witness reports? Nothing at all written about it? Then the flood did not happen. What about alternative explanations? Why could the buildings be the way they are when not a flood is responsible? Where ever space started getting rare in cities, people were searching for ways to get more out of that limited space. As long as construction technology was not totally suitable for skyscrapers, it was much more efficient to use the basement for apartments. And that's what they did. It is a simple question of economy. It simply does not need a flood to have windows in the basement of buildings. Everybody can do that very basic level of fact checking.

i live on the west coast and we dont have a lot of basements. the first thought that woulda came to my mind (besides basements) would be that the buildings were built on a swamp and started sinking like an inch every few years so they kept building them up higher while it sunk. kind of like how people say disney world is sinking really slowly. but nope, suprisingly their idea is even sillier.

There are infact buildings in many cities where the today's basement was the first floor when built, especially those on flat river embankments only few meters above water level prone to flooding. They couldn't dig basements because that would mean digging below groundwater-level. When introducing canalisation in the 19th and 20th century that was also a reason not burying the pipes into the ground, that and the fact that you need a decent slope to secure flow of wastewater to the river. So they layed the pipes simply onto the old street level,covered it with dirt and so raised the street few meters. Voila: You, formerly residing in the first floor now became a basement dweller. No discount! Rent stays the same :p.No covered-up megaflood needed. Oh, and other cities like Chicago simply lifted whole houses with jacks: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fz6GQ6HyOGg.html

My city used to have an entire part of the city underneath it. Entrances were on the outside to all of these buildings. If you go in the basement of many downtown businesses, you can see where the old entrances are as well as the old windows. Over time, cities change and the need for additional infrastructure led to the streets being raised in many cities. Realize that most of those buildings you see, if not all of them, are still being used today and those bits "buried" are still in use. There's nothing hidden or covered up. On top of that, this conspiracy would mean every single building with underground bits was built prior to some specific "Mud flood" event. Which we know isn't true because a lot of those buildings aren't very old at all.

One reason could be practicality or cost. For example, a building owner might choose a particular window design because it is cheaper or easier to manufacture and install. Alternatively, the window design may have been chosen to meet specific safety or energy efficiency requirements. Another reason could be related to the architectural style of the building or the surrounding area. A building's design may be intentionally minimalist or utilitarian to fit in with a particular style or to stand out in a particular way. Finally, it's possible that the design simply did not turn out as planned, or that the building was not completed according to the original design due to budget or time constraints. Overall, there can be many reasons why a building's design might not be aesthetically pleasing, and it's important to consider the context and practical considerations when evaluating a design.

Like in every town. The gatekeepers are in denial because some of them believe the settlers built the cities.

God I hate skeptics. They play their role, but most of them are so ignorant.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe that people didn't notice the windows of the lower ground floor.
