This took me right back in time, to when my mum and i made little dolls out of wool and beds out of walnut shells. I must have been about 7 or 8 at the time. Lovely memories. ♥ Your dolls bed with baby was so very cute. I loved the finished items. Isn't the room looking so lovely dressed for Christmas. A pleasure to watch you creating. Thanks. Xxx

Hello lovely ladies, thank you for responding to my questions so promptly. You were right fleur nuts do have a weak point , but I can't remember if it's the diameter or the circumference. I prise my walnuts open with a nail file . You made me laugh Kate with your improvised tool , I do the same and know other people who do the same . I use an orange stick / cuticle hoof as a mini tapper ha ha. I have fun memories of operation . The walnut baby cradle is so cute and adorable . I use to make fairy homes as a little girl filled with leaves. I wouldnt have thought of making a crib out of a walnut, although I have known of something on a larger scale with coconut shells and smaller nuts for a stand peanuts / monkey nuts ? . The sort you can feed the birds with any how and trimmed with a bit of broderie anglaise. Then painted like you can paint or varnish the walnuts , I prefer them unpainted though. Stay safe ladies , I think I might have to start my comments busy ladies lol take care until the next video xxx

Each one had full rigging and a flag. He made the last one for my daughter 31 years ago. Aren’t walnut shells inspirational? ⚓️👶🏻🛌

The second I saw that you were crafting something from a walnut shell it sparked a memory. When my sister and I were teenagers many years ago, I gave her a tiny drawstring bag I had made with a walnut shell inside. Inside the walnut shell was a tiny gift, perhaps a pair of earrings or something. I don't recall, but the following year she gave the drawstring bag and the walnut shell with a tiny gift inside back to me. We continued that exchange for several years, probably until I moved out of the house or the walnut shell was lost in moving. Neither one of us remembers what gift was inside the shell each year, but I think the challenge was to find something small enough to fit. It may have been just a few m&m's or a tiny figurine but I think the real gift was the bag and shell because it was unique and thoughtful and handmade and I remember it so clearly.

Ikve always loved mouse houses and teeny things in walnut shells or matchboxes and your little stick baby is adorable in its makeshift walnut crib! I especially love that you and your mother are crafting together and making memories. It reminds me of my mother and my daughter. I just really love this sweet, wholesome content. It really warms my heart and reminds me of my own mother sewing our outfits for us when we were kids, and also reminds me of the little crafts my daughter would make and give me. Especially the little heart shapes in the walnut shells- that has always been a thing with us. Whenever we would see a rock or twig or other object shaped as a heart, we would gift it to each other. I still have a grocery twist-tie that my daughter fashioned into a little heart. I stilll have it somewhere and cherish it. ❤Lots of love to you both, and thank you again for these beautiful little videos. PS, I’m loving Fairy Acorn’s advent gifts, so thank you for also sharing those with us! ❤❤❤❤

The stand you put the cradle on is what was left of a gas mantle for old fashioned gas lights. We had those in our caravan when I was young. They had a little white bag thing of fine material that glowed and they popped when you lit them. If you hit the white bit on anything it just disintigrated into a powder.😊

You can make strawberry ornaments out of whole walnuts by painting them strawberry red then poking a hole in the top and glueing on a ribbon then putting little black seeds or tiny pearls in the dents in the shells. They are actually very pretty on a tree especially with the tiny pearls. And yes ‘operation’ has been played in the USA for many many years. Love your tiny babies in the shells. Love from the USA Donna/MIchigan
