I was wondering how to use this function. The manual is a pain in the backside thank u so much for showing how it works and in simple form. Thank u and all the best
great!! thats the kind of information we need in youtube! just perfect man! simple and straight! this function is one o those functions all the reviwers do not show.. maybe because its a bit complicated.. but you did it flwlessly! thanks again!
Clever, let's hope Casio adds Bluetooth with this feature to all its compass equipped watches. It's great for hiking or finding a car in a large parking lot. Casio might also have a way one person could text their GPS location to someone else and the second person use a Casio watch to go to them.
Excellent video.. but the point is if u have your mobile phone then simply open mape & go wherever you want to... It would be better if it has inbulid GPS or simply anything by which it works without the help of mobile. As i am a hiker/ motorcycle tourer, lots of times there is no mobile network...
So I have to push every 6 minutes the compass button and starting again the app in my phone to go to my location? What if my location is 20 kilometers away and my phone died? This concept is dumb and will not work for hardcore hikers ...😣 What do you think?
In my opinion talking hardcore hikers compass is their true friend. The idea behind this was to give users fun watching their activities through their phone. E.g., all Garmin users buy Garmin bc they love to throw their activities and look over on their computers, but you have to recharge the watch often. G-Shock is a never die battery companion, badass in terms of looks what's so called bomb proof, and remains the simple classic Casio menu. Coming to GG-B100, location indicator will give you directions while you keep your phone on your pocket and not scratch it in the bushes as you are returning from the hike (plus save phone's battery). If battery dies, at least you know the bearing which you can follow. It is a great watch that can come handy in certain situations. I hope my answer wasn't too long, but helpful.
If that's what u r looking for than Casio has u covered with GPR-B1000, but you will have to pay the price for getting gps compass bluetooth alti/barometer thermometer and sunrise sunset with solar charging
You will need the phone for it to work. If your phone dies, all you can use is the compass, and other features. The best alternative is honestly navigation skills. If you have a compass and map and can shoot bearings, you’ll always be better off than relying on technology. It’s more of an extra tool in the bag as opposed to the sole thing you rely on.
fast temperature you set baro info to on and switch to temp. you can hold the hands still while the computer calculates the weather. takes about 5 mins.
Great to get back to your starting point. In the Alti mode you can start recording your hike. Can we do both functions at the same time, that is to record the starting point via the compass as in this video and the route via the alti?
Great watch, looks fab. But Tbf these functions may work but most likely they're a gimmick hardly anyone will use. What is useful they keep accurate time and the date on a nice looking watch.
Hi, unfortunately you can't. Though, Casio's software developers could solve this and update the firmware of the app with such a feature if they want to... It would be awesome to save different location points. Thank you for watching
Hi Emre, this function comes very handy for example when you are returning from a hike. Using your smartphone with sweaty hands, ain't the best option and as walking through rough terrains you will need those hands. While a durable watch like this, could really be the smart option and you are going to save up juice on your phone. (That's how I use it)
Yes, it will go back to normal watch function. Keep in mind that you can extend it to 6 min and that you don't need to pull out your phone anytime the 3 min is over, you just hold the compass button to hit it again (just make sure not to turn off the data connection on your mobile).
@@HenriUnzip thanks for your reply, ohh i thought that i can turn off the mobile data, because i have rangeman gpr b1000, they can transfer the gps from the phone to the watch, then i can turn off my phone and also the gps last forever in the watch. becaue it doesnt need any connection. so its different.
@@HenriUnzip hi henry, i think i wanna buy it. just curious about the compass, is it can show the direction the way which we wanna go? or it only can show the way to our previous location like you showed in the video? i mean : 1. can i set a location in the G-Shock app like the gpr b1000? not manually set in the watch. 2. if i'm at "place A" and i want to go to "Place B" (about 200km from Place A), is it possible the compass can show the way & show the remaining distance? Do you get what i meant ?? :D
I understand. This model only shows directions to our previous location point (just as in the video). 1: Through the G-Shock app you cannot set a location on the map and then to follow it, you do it only through the watch.. manually (though if G-Shock staff want, in a software update they can make this a reality). 2: As you can tell by now, the watch shows directions and distance to your last saved location point. I really hope that G-Shock plays more with the software, it would be great.
Hi. Nice video, but I'm still having troubles understanding this feature. When I try to activate the mission log or to memorize - register a location it says "FAILED"
One question; can GGB100 operate standalone in order to set location, and then provide me directions home back to it? Sounds like I must use my smart phone. This is not ideal. Many times I have had my phone dead, when needing a feature like this.
So what happens after the 6 minutes is up? Do you loose that direction info? I dont know about you but it would take me longer than 6 mins to cover 800 metres ! Pretty shit really
Great job brother! Question, can you have several destination points saved that you can then navigate to reach return point and avoid navigation as the crow flies?
Hi, no you can't, you can only save one and return back to it. It would be great if they add multiple location points to their app and so we could choose. Thanks for watching man
If you own this watch, or any one else witch is connectable with *G-SHOCK CONNECTED* , enter in " *demo* " any model you want visualize, to navigate into their mode ! Try to see in demo these gems in *GRAVITY MASTER* section: *GPW-2000* , *GR-B100* , *GWR-200* but if you want two screens(analogic and digital), *GR-B200* (like i said in the first comment, which it's not exactly the brother of *GG-B100* which is the *MUDMASTER* model, but some functions are quite the same, with flight specifications in plus!
Well brother, mine won't connect. Failed all the time. Idk how to fix it. Watch is good when connected to the phone, all features are good. Just won't do the location indicator for unknown reason.
Hello Sir I got this watch and try to ajust to my location point but always show me [FAILED] [POSITION] please tell me what is my mistake or is in my phone setings? thanks!
Hello, so I suppose you have paired the watch with your phone at first place. Anytime you want to save a location point make sure you have Bluetooth and internet turned on. Here's my guess, when you memory a location point while pressing for 5 sec the compass button you need to release the button after the two beeping sounds, not before (I'm telling this because there is people who got errors because of releasing the finger from the button too fast). And the other thing, while saving a location point, don't walk around, stay still in one place, otherwise it will read error. Hope this helps!
For ne it's keep doing the same problem. I have paired the watch, location and bluetooth turned on, I'm in the middle of a open air field and it's still failing on me. However the missionlog works flawlessly...
I sent my watch back to the dealer I got it from because the GPS function never worked and it kept displaying "failed", then bought it again from another dealer and had to send that one back too because its gps was also not working, tried it on 3 different phones. I know the GPS function is quite useless anyway when you have a phone with a 4G and a gps but i paid SO MUCH MONEY AND I WANT IT TO WORK but it never worked, the compass was also off on the first watch, when you spin it slowly the arrow starts to point on a 90 degree different direction so you cant tell where north is ever.
What symbol have you on left side due to searching saved location? On my watch stay letter “G” and not that what you have. Looks like small “rocket” :)
Hmm, who knows why that shows up different on yours. I checked on someone else's and just as mine had the "rocket" icon. However, important is to work, letter "G" sounds cool!
Hello, so make sure you have good data connection, Bluetooth enabled, open the G-Shock App, and then make sure to press and hold the compass button for as long as you hear the two beeping sounds (5 sec for location memory, 2 sec for location indicator). Hopefully it helps!
Hye henry , Hye , i wanna to double chek with you bout compass , normally once we push compass button , the indicator will show to us direct to NORTH point , but in my watch , its was show the wrong direction , so I’m hold to 5 second at compass button , its just write NO DATA , what should i do ?
Alright I see. If you keep the watch flat and it still shows you wrong directions then what you should do is very easy. You have to calibrate its compass. First you press the compass button then hold the top left button until "set" starts flashing to enter the menu. There you will have to move your watch in a certain pattern which you find on the manual online. I'm sure this will resolve your issue.
Hi Robby, make sure you release the button at the right time (this seems a common solution for some) and make sure you have good connection. I myself take this watch for hikes or when I explore a city and I use the location indicator on the way back. I love it bc once the watch and the smartphone are connected you can leave your phone in the pocket and only use the watch to refresh the location. This will save tons of juice in your smartphone and won't have to deal with the map on your smartphone which melts the battery quickly. There's another reason, this watch is used also for military purposes, GPS watches are detectable and can reveal the location of a soldier's base, hence GPS watches are only ideal for sports' activities. For me it's a tool, hope it helps, cheers!
There's nothing exciting about to watch it's not solar tough it runs on batteries for that kind of money Casio needs to make it solar that's what they're noted for that's why they're so popular solar tough
How bout usingbit in the dark. Does light work when using functions. Mine dont on some. Like it stops the compass needle while light is on. Im hoping i didnt get a fake and its just bad design by casio
The light works without problems while using other functions. It doesn't affect functions you apply to the watch, nor it doesn't stop the compass or anything else.
In my opinion bc of some added hardwares such as: sapphire crystal, atomic clock, tough solar, better lume, vibe resist, and since is bigger hence more material used. But in terms of software and functionality the GG B100 kills the GWG 1000.
But since GG B100 does not have tough solar.. A) how long does the battery last?.. B) Does it drain quickly?.. C) Does it take too long to replace the battery?
Hye henry , I’m just buy ist 2 day ago , i wanna to doubles chek with you , in my phone, its just show from the map my tracking route from my office to first destination, time round 10 am till 12 pm , when I’m going back round 12 something, I’m stay at office till 4 pm , after 4 pm i ride with my motorcycle till 10pm , but it’s didn’t show my route from 4 pm till 10 pm , why ?
Hi Nizam, you didn't mention the mission log. Next time try to do an activity by activating the mission log feature. I have done a video on that. Use it if you want to check the route, the distance, time travel and altitude. Let me know if it helps
Henri Unzip , means , once I’m connected via Bluetooth, i need to press Altitude button before start my journey , then its will start track my route , then once finish my route , again need to press Altitude butyon to stop its to record my track , is that true ?
Now , how to set up compass to show us the indicator point to NORTH , becouse now once I’m pres compass , its show me SOUTH direction, its was to weird , cozz any compass we use its , automatically will show us NORTH
