Mudvayne performing "Dig" live at The Hordern Pavilion, Sydney, Australia on February 16, 2024.
Mudvayne has made the trip to Australia a few times over the years, and I've been there each time. It's been 18 years since their last visit though! They hit up Sydney on Friday night with Coal Chamber. Hot and sweaty in the pit, but a great night!

There was plenty of verse singing that night, but it just sounded like random screaming. Basically, it was the crowd brbr denging the verse. 🤣

Yeah, they've definitely slowed it down a bunch since regrouping in 2021. 😁 They're probably trying to make up for the fact that they played it ridiculously fast live when they first released it. 🤣

That was a better view and sound quality than I experienced first hand on Saturday in Melbourne. Great job on the video work! Still strange seeing Ryan play anything other than a Warwick though.

Thanks! Yeah, there were some comments about sound quality in Sydney too. Seems whoever was mixing had a heap of high end in the mix that just bounced around the room. Up front it was nice and clear. Even though I'm a drummer, I've always found Ryan to be my favourite of the band. His technicality combined with the enjoyment he has playing always makes him entertaining to watch. I've always liked the Warwick's big but clean tone. His bass sounded good, but his old ones always seemed to have a really specific chorusy tone in the high end, and this one didn't have that quite so much.

Is he using his signature bass now rather than the warwick? Warwick has such a unique sound, just like dingwall does, so its hard to replicate that on any other instrument

@@mattpatt199 yeah, he was playing the Fodera. Sounded nice, but doesn't have quite the same miderangey-high tone the Warwick did, which is a shame as that really helped all his work shine through the rest of the mix.
