(Update) Carlos bro I straight piped my 03 g35 sedan omg!!!! Bro I’m in love it took me forever to do it I was scared I just went for it and it sounds so good omg. Pops are insane I literally drive so much now and when it’s in manual god the pops are crazy and I got a nice looking unique tip as well

Good mod but the cats muffle and refine the sounds drastically. So test pipes with out muffler and res, you'll get pulled over for sure bro. Maybe add a vibrant super quiet resonator when you do the test pipes.

Mmm its exciting at first, its some different and the adrenaline flows thru the veins. I had my muffler deleted on my g37, it took 2 days the regreat it. Going back to the sexy, soft and clean stock set up. Wasted my money.

Just my personal opinion and it's what I'm about to do is get some test pipes. I need mine with bung holes for the 4 02 sensors the X has though. Then I'm getting a nice quality y pipe with 2.5 inlet and one 3 inch outlet. Straight pipe the resonator and get a nice high flow universal muffler. That should keep it sounding like a more aggressive stock sound. Without that raspy fart can ricer sound! Im trying to avoid that for the life of me. I've had a custom exhaust on a 94 Maxima SE headers, y-pipe, hi flow cats, muffler and that things screamed. It was so damn loud. The opposite of my 300zxTT. That Maxima had the same engine just the FWD version that had a timing chain instead of a belt. But they sounded like two different beasts. That Maxima was ridiculously loud, pissed a lot of ppl off. My 300zxTT on the other hand was just right, it sounded so good when idling. I had so many ppl ask if I did a V8 swap the way it'd lobe in idle making that chugga, chugga sound. Im fairly confident I can get my G to immolate this sound. I have a bad ass customer CAI system I made, 5/16th Blox Plenum spacer, throttle body spacer, and believe it or not I made a custome 5 point grounding kit along with the Big 3 mod. Which just ads a 0 gauge wire from the positive of the battery to the positive terminal on the alternator. Anyways it helps the car perform so much better. Added two extra grounds running from engine block to chasis, and from the transmission to the chassis and block. It shifts so smooth and it idles at a perfect 600-650rpm. That low idle gives it that chugga chugga sound of a V8. It's just so restricted with the stock exhaust. So I'm thinking doing what I mentioned should open it up. It sounds nice stock, just needs to be opened up. Nothing obnoxious though, it's not a damn ricer. It's a 4 door luxury sports car. Gotta keep it classy. It's like trying to rice out a fucking M3! Just ruins the car altogether. I've seen headers for this car for only 80! That might be a bit unnecessary and overkill. But it could actually help keep overall engine temps down. The VQ already naturally runs a little hotter than most engines. After I installed the CAI, plenum and throttle body spacers. I also painted the plenum and man what a difference that made in temps. I also installed a low temp thermostat that opens at 170 instead of 180-190. My temps never go above the 6 dash mark. This engine loves cool temps, you can just hear it growl while cruising. Hell fuck it I may just get the damn headers anyways to deepen that growl. I just installed new valve covers and painted them. I need to check the driver's side again anyways because I think the gasket didn't set right. Noticed a bit of oil leaking on the headers. Im also curious in the condition of my spark plugs. Bank 1 had ran lean a few times. Think it's cylinder 3, but one of them definitely is. So they may be fouled and I changed them like 4k miles ago. I just want to see what the look like and if the gap changed any. Basically just give me a reason to tinker with it. Will need all of that shit out to install headers anyways. Like I said 80 bucks, so fuck it. Then I found a great deal on a y pipe for 100. Then I will just pay a muffler shop to fab the rest from y pipe to muffler. Guess I'll have to just find out how it sounds. It better not sound like shit or I'm done with this car. My next Infiniti will be a M56 anyways 5.6 liter V8 420hp stock. I love that luxury sedan sleeper look! Those can beat Scat Packs and SS Camaros all day. A FBO one with a tune can exceed 500hp all day! Best of all you can find them for 10k-15k! Key word if, they are fairly rare.
