Islamic speaker and cleric Mufti Menk stoked controversy after attending an interfaith iftar in Dubai alongside Zionist rabbi Levi Duchman, who facilitated Israel’s presence in the UAE.
Menk later released a video response, saying he was misrepresented by “mischief makers”.

Zionism and Judaism are separate. Zionism is a political belief backed by fanatics to justify robbing the native population of the Levant/Palestine (Jews/Christians/Druze/Muslims) of their property, livelihoods, sovereignty and rights. We can break our fast with anyone, although the recent politics of gulf states towards Israel puts into question their intentions. Not just recent above table actions today, but how long they’ve been cozy with the Zionist state oppressing Palestinians for nearly 74 years. Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Gulf states all talk a tough game in public but have privately been undermining the Palestinians struggle for justice, sovereignty and equal rights for a long time.

Does he need to give an explanation to why it is false? He's an Islamic scholar for goodness sake. His job helps spread Islam even to the most difficult people and his insight is expected to be a bit better than the average Muslim. Just because a person hates Islam and Muslims doesn't mean you can't talk to them. How do you think the prophet dealt with the non Muslims who hated Islam in a way you can only imagine? Take Abu jahl for example, the prophet never gave up on him until Allah made it clear that he had no hope, the people of ta'if, even prophet Ibrahim A.S didn't give up on his father and people until his life was threatened and he was commanded by Allah to do hijra.

The shame should be on you who think it's a shame. The prophet was bleeding profusely on the battlefield but when asked if to destroy the enemies of Islam in one moment by the angel, he said no. He still had hope and yes many of them later became Muslims. Umar R.A was an enemy of Islam also but he ended up becoming our khalifa. There's hope as long as there's life. The Muslims were told to fight the disbelievers until they gave up fighting the Muslims or even end up becoming Muslims. There were people who stopped fighting Muslims simply because they could no longer face them, not because they were convinced of Islam and they loved under the protection of Muslims for as long as they didn't wage war.

If she starts to insult Islam or messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, go away and let her be alone to calm down, then try to find good moments to talk with her, to help her with something halal (food cooking, washing, cleaning etc) and talk with her kindly, even if it's hard. Some English police officers came to our local masjid couple of years ago, fasted the whole day and shared iftaar with us? Whether they were men of faith or not only my Allah knows what I do not. But it was surely a nice thing to see. They did this to see what it felt like to be a Muslim and what Ramadhan was all about (not just food but the fasting of the senses that Allah has bestowed us with and conduct of one's self) Allah knows best what the intention was of the sheikh and all who else that joined. If the people in my masjid were to judge the two English officers who shared iftaar with us imagine how they would have felt about Islam and Muslims? They may have reverted to Islam for all we know, and Only Allah knows best. Please correct me if I am wrong. Would this what happened in our masjid not be classed as an act of dawah, in turn making it an act of worship? If I am wrong please forgive me..

I don't know nor listen to him and from what little I've seen, it seems like he let the 'fame' get to his head, more like a celebrity and no humbleness. I'm entitled to my opinion.
