Thank you very much for teaching me how to make a mugga rug. I am a early sewer and just yesterday I decided I wanted to learn how to make a mother rub. Now I know. Thank you very much.
I also wind up using them to put under vases with flowers, or flower pots, in case some water spills or leaks, and I don't put bubbles on my wooden surface or leave water rings. I want to give mine away when I start, and then I fall in love with them, and I may have a problem now :D
I've been on a mug rug/pincushion kick lately, and this came up this morning. I did binding on the mug rug I made yesterday (on most of them, actually), so I think I'll try this method on the next one. Thanks so much for sharing!
Hi! We order all of ours from Sew Steady - they will custom fit it to your machine; when you order, you specify the sewing machine model you are using. Fantastic! amzn.to/3T2Gbty
I leave my 1/4" for on for quilting mugmats since they are small. But normal domestic machine quilting for say a table runner or baby use my walking foot.
The square mug rug started at 8” square, finishes at 7 1/2” once you turn it. My rectangular mugmats usually start at 5 1/2” x 10 1/2” and finish 5” x 10” but truly, pick your preferred finishing size and add 1/2” to each dimension (width & height) and go for it!
Lol you are not too OCD🤣 I managed to get a stress fracture in my clavicle and have issues with my shoulder and left arm --> inflammation in my arm and hands 🤣 good eye!
