Mug Puli Pitha Recipe | Mug Daler Bhaja Pithe | Fried Moong Dal Dumplings Recipe | Freshly Cooked |
A classic bengali dessert recipe made with moong dal, rice flour and sugar syrup. On pous sankranti Bengalis are used to prepare pithe- Puli, this Moong Puli is among them. This is moong dal dumplings, outside crispy and inside stuffed with tender sweet coconut stuffing eaten with hot sugar/jaggery syrup. Firstly, make sure to form dough adding rice flour to moong dal paste. secondly, the dough of moong dal and rice flour has to be smooth to form a crack less shape before and after deep frying. lastly, deep fry these in low or low to medium flame & dip into sugar syrup. the pitha has to be cooked evenly even and can be achieved only with low flame.
Ingredients:-
Greated Coconut 1 big
Jaggery 250gm.
milk powder 50gm.
Moong Dal 150gm.
Rice flour 75 gm.
Sugar 300gm.
Water for syrup 500ml.
water for dal boil 500ml.
Oil for deep fry
