@KhazariaProject I think a Bukharian can appreciate Ashkenazi culture. I'm a Muslim Uzbek and grew up among Bukharian Jews and Tajiks listening to Central Asian music, like this Bukharian song. After I came to United States I've come to love a lot of new things. And I tell ya, herring on rye and latkes are to kill for. And breakfast without a bagel is not breakfast anymore. And Klezmer music ROCKS!!!
I am a tajik from Bukhara and very proud that Bukharian jews kept our culture alive! Shame we couldnt keep you... :( Most of us are assimilating to a Turkik culture now... Thank you for the post!
@ipi5hl yes, it is an Iranian language, but it shares more similarities with Tajik, Persian spoken in Central Asia which has much Russian and Uzbek influence. And Bukharian Jewish Language (Judeo-Tajik) is influenced by Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, Uzbek, and of course, Tajik
