Here in Hawaii on the island of Maui my family prepares traditional foods mixed with other cultural foods. Our main course is what we call laulau. It’s beef, pork, and sometimes butterfish or sweet potatoes and it’s wrapped in taro leaves and then rolled up in a ti leaf and wrap it in foil and steamed. The other dishes are squid with coconut milk and taro leaves (squid luau), scraped salted salmon, mixed with tomatoes and onion (lomi salmon), chicken cooked with glass noodles (chicken long rice), a couple side dishes like potato or macaroni salad and chunks of raw fish (poke), rice, pounded taro (poi). We also have a lot of homemade desserts 🧁. Most of the foods are prepared one month before our new year gathering. 🎉🎉.

Puoi mangiare quello che vuoi, anzi puoi anche bere solo acqua senza mangiare, che resti sempre la mia preferita 🤗 Per Capodanno, la mia famiglia e io prepariamo lasagne, salsicce e tanti contorni buonissimi ( patate fritte, broccoli soffritti con aglio e olio E.V.O., frittelle di cavolfiore e frittelle di zucca). Quello che amiamo di più, però, è stare a guardare i fuochi d'artificio la notte della vigilia. Happy new year to you and all the people you love!
Haven't seen an at home meal in forever... Love it!!! Would love to see traditional foods for the new year! Down south we cook black eye peas for good luck, collard greens for money and bbq or some kind of meat to go with lol! ❤️You guys!!
In Russia, we celebrate New Year at night from 31 of December to 1 of January. But also we have few traditional celebrations after it. Usually we cook baked chicken, few traditional salads, snacks and drinks. We start celebrate at the evening at do it till morning. We eat, watch traditional New Year movies on TV, listen music, dance and go for a walk. Watch or launch fireworks. As I said before our New Year celebrations have few holidays. From 31 of December to 1 of January is New Year, from 6 of January to 7 January is Christmas and from 13 of January to 14 of January is Old style New Year. So we celebrate really long time😁
Our new year is at the beginning of spring. We eat fish with rice mixed with fresh herbs. We pray for the world to be in its best shape, and ofcourse lots of pastries and black tea after the meal.
I've been busy but I never miss a video..my favorite of lately is of making kimchi with mother in law and how Midam gets along with poo long now that is awesome...I live hiw good yo mother in law you are ...that's another reason your my favorite on RU-vid...I can't wait to go to Korea
