A year ago, 16 Filipino engineers underwent a know-how and technology transfer training from the UK-based Surrey Satellite Technology, Ltd. to develop the Multispectral Unit for Land Assessment or MULA satellite. 🛰
MULA will be the Philippines' first of next generation commercial-grade satellites.✨
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) jumpstarted the funding of MULA. The project is jointly implemented by the University of the Philippines-Diliman (UPD) and the DOST-Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI), and done in coordination with the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA). PhilSA will oversee the completion and launch of MULA, and manage its operations.
#JoinTheMission and learn more about #MULA's missions in this video.

We should have our very own positioning system. We should not rely on GPS, BEIDOU, GLONASS and GALILEO of other countries. We don't know who our enemies are in the future. And also, our very own space station. Marami tayong engineers na magagaling na nagkaroon na ng experience sa ibang bansa. Hoping the government will prioritize this for our national security. Kahit matagal ang research and developement basta ang importante may progress. I don't trust allies!

The Department of Science and Technology needs to do a better job lobbying for additional funds before the 2023 budget is declared.

LEO of course. I'm not an engineer. I'm not a academic person.

It will probably be placed on LEO... GEO will be so high for the satellite to capture HD images
