I've seen multiple people comment this now so I feel the need to clarify: we don't hate Mushu. None of us dislike the character, and we go on to laugh at basically every joke he makes throughout the course of the movie. Moments like 22:40 are purely sarcastic, as I am mocking the people that stupidly decided to remove him from the 2020 remake.
One of my favorite details in this film is after they sing a Girl Worth Fighting for and they find the destroyed town and army. When Mulan finds the doll one of the children owned and presumably perished because of the Huns. That child is now the girl they are fighting for.
I wish you guys mentioned how great the soundtrack was. The music holds incredibly to this day. For this reason alone, I think the movie deserves to be rated a little higher than you guys rated it.
I’ve stayed clear of all leaks and spoilers; I’m going in totally blind with an open mind and I’m _really_ hoping it’s gonna be good. The trailers have me hyped beyond belief.
I think the reason why the Huns took the Emperor up into the palace was because staying on ground level would’ve given the army a chance to surround him while breaking into and fortifying the palace would’ve given the Huns more time to make the Emperor surrender.
Mulan 2020 required you to pay 30 dollars to watch when it first premiered on Disney+. That same year, Pixar's Soul came out on Disney+ and was free to watch from day 1. Guess which was the better film.
I was gonna say I'd have been happy to pay $30 for Soul, but that's a lie; I would never want to support Disney's Premiere Access bullshit. But the film would certainly have been worth the price tag.
Late to the comments, but another reason why that film is so bad is because of the controversy surrounding the star actress’s support of police brutality in China
I like Shan Yu saying ''the soldier from the mountain'' or whatever he says in english, cus it shows he doesnt give a shit about her being a woman, just that shes the dude that killed his army. It's pretty neat. Also some of the complaints yall have deadass make more sense if you rewatch it.
First they shrink Finn on Force Awakens posters for China, and now they're cutting a black guy from the Mulan Remake for China. How wonderfully progressive of you, Disney!
He said this represents discipline and this represents strength. You need BOTH to reach the arrow. Nobody got it, but Mulan who finally started being smart creative expressive self rather than acting tough and acting like what Mushu thinks a man is. None of it's spelled out. I think these reneicence era movies have way more to offer adults than children.
Yeah, when you subscribe to a subscription service you expect the ability to watch what you want to watch completely undisturbed for free. Honestly, absolute power can corrupt absolutely, but most people are already corrupt beyond belief before they get their absolute power that corrupts them even more. Honestly, it remains to be seen whether or not Shan Yu's really that bad of a written villain (Disney creatives were still scumbags for their historical ignorance.) Suicidal granny. The reason they gave was because they wanted to be more serious and so therefore no singing. Adachi logic 101. Yeah, the animated film's wonderful. Yeah, nice setup. He wasn't cut from the film, but he might as well have been because he's made out of the same hypocritical cardboard as Fake-Mulan There's a third, more hidden element. Ingenuity. And the creativity isn't ignorance as well. He's just like me and Willy, we always come back! Or maybe they want him to be captured, brought to their tribe, forced to humbly give over the rest of China, then kill him and tell everyone that their emperor is dead.
I heard a theory along the lines of that the Great Stone Dragon didn't awaken because it's not actually a stone guardian, and that its a symbolic representation of Mulan being the guardian of the Fa family
stopped watching the video when you started doing trash talk about Mushu. He's the main reason I ever watched this excellent movie. And his absence is one of reasons why the new movie is so bad.
@@GamingMagic13 okay. It's just I've seen other reviewers genuinely pointing out how they find Mushu annoying and that he never should have been in the movie, hence I thought you guys were serious.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and while I personally don't agree with the gripes y'all had with Mushu or your overall rating of this, I know my personal attachment can't be changed. This film was a massive part of my developmental years, especially in terms of identity. And it's genuinely miles better than the remake, I'll say that much in agreement.
No slander upon Mushu is tolerated!😫I can’t believe y’all don’t like Mushu😭 Everyone is this film was amazing ❤ The prob with the remake was they assumed the animators didn’t do their research on the film 😂 and said that they were going to honor the original poem better and end up among it more fabricated than the animated one. Not to mention the Chinese already did their take on the film in love action and it’s 10x better than disneys 😂😂😂😂 You guys should do a react to the behind the scenes of these films just to show people that animators did take care of how they made these films. Shun-Yu actually was supposed to be hunted to be non human like some demon type creature but they scratched that idea , they had a scene to better hunt at it with his bird and him being connected and he sees through his Birds Eye’s. But I’m assuming they decided to keep the idea and just had the audice assume whatver since his eyes are black still and has fangs. But I think he’s the best Villan. Not all villans have to be dramatic and boisterous personalities. Plus he’s super strong and intimidating without much supernatural help( dwindling if you accept the idea he is. Some supernatural entity) h
@@TabalugaDragon😂 Aw don’t Eveyone had their favs and not some guys said the same out mekko in Pocahontas but he said they bring down the film and said they don’t fit the tone of the film🙄 which made no sense to me cuz as a kid then rewatching years later as a teenager and adult they fit in pretty well🤷♀️
Umm during the outro he’s very positive about Mushu as a character especially starting at 59:47 so you might have waited to hear his actual thoughts on the character
