This is the updated version of the B-1000EW, They have removed the speaker on this version. I have listened to demos of the old version and the wow and flutter has not been that bad, this unit seems to have issues with wow and flutter, shop pre-recorded tapes sound just as bad, just in case you think it a bad deck that recorded it. I used this tune from RU-vid so that it really highlights the wow and flutter, after that I play the tune in my old Panasonic unit to see if there was much of a difference. I'm going to give this unit a week or two play time to wear in the belts to see if it improve.
Well a week has gone pass, and after hours of use, the wow and flutter has seen to settle down quite a bit, sometimes you have to wear new belts in, I will edit this video in a few days with the new outcome.

Thanks for putting this out there! even with the wow and flutter, it sounds by and far better than the other options on the market today.

I've been meaning to do a update video when I can get some decent royalty free music, The player has now improved with a few weeks of play, the belt has now worn in, I will try and get the update video done this weekend. Thanks for your feedback

I will edit this video in a few days time, after using the unit for many hours over the week , the wow and flutter has improved, I guess you have to give belts in new units time to settle in.

I like the fact that it takes AA batteries instead of internal batteries that users cannot replace.

I feel like giving the belts some time to stretch in and maybe an addition to some thin foam tabs inside would help cushion and keep the cassette in place. My dad used to make all sorts of tiny modifications to his Walkmans when he used to go on jogs. He did little tweaks even though some of his portable players were super expensive and fancy like the quartz ones.

Mine arrived right on new years eve. I am very pleased with it, good sound, not a big thick player either Love also the big cassette window I believe this is the only choice today for a walkman The one from WEAREREWIND i dislike it, looks like a wooden box

That's what your dealing with these days, there is only one standard tape mechanism out there. so if the foundations are shite to start of with, then there is no hope. As it stands WEAREREWIND have released the same mechanism with new additions like Bluetooth and rechargeable battery, TECHMOAN has reviewed it.

i have the same B-1000EW and tried to record music from my computer onto a blank cassette and it only picked up me talking from the microphone even though i connected the cords into both jacks, is there a way to record music from your computer on this model?

They changed that in the B-1000EW Clear door version the 1st Edition with speaker door had the option to record line in. that model was B-1000
