I can see the story now: instead of finding the Huns still alive, the Huns find Mulan and take her in from the cold. Shan Yu recognizes her as the soldier from the mountains who bested him. He’s not the least bit bothered that she is a woman (since there actually were women in the Hun army), and since he’s impressed by her wits and skills, he proposes she join the Hun army as his right hand woman. She reluctantly agrees and eventually finds herself widely more respected by the Huns than she ever was by Li Shang and his pathetic excuse for an army. One day, she catches herself in the mirror, looking at what she’s become...and she likes it!

Imagine: Mulan, betrayed by those she considered her friends and comrades, makes her own army. Built of women and girls who are sick and tired of not being considered and treat as nothing but objets, managing to even recruit the emperor's own concubines and daughters. Mulan trains her army with an iron fist for years until she finally sends word to the imperial palace about her oncoming attach, not taking her threats seriously, the secretary of the emperor doesn't even consider showing the message to emperor, committing a grave mistake. Mulan brings her army to the imperial palace, every women and herself dressed as servant and concubines, that's when they strike. The women army easily takes out the guards and the emperor is taken hostage by Mulan who demands for Li Shang to come forth this instant. Shang does so in hopes to save the emperor only to recognize Mulan, now dressed once again in her father's armor, sword in hand. She defies Shang with a fight to the death, Shang tries to reason with her, going as far as to apologize on his knees to her in the name of the whole Chinese army for the way they treated her but it's no use, Mulan wants revenge and respect for all the women of China. Seeing there's nothing he can say to her, Shang accepts the fight and take out his sword. An epic fight happens and Mulan comes out as the winner by plunging her sword in Shang's chest, staring at him dead in the eyes as he slowly drift off to the afterlife. The emperor is then publicly executed and Mulan is chosen as empress.

I'd love to see a Tiana version, where she is so sick of everything being pushed down and back by others that she og takes the shadow man's deal and becomes a voodoo queen

Definitely seems you had some fun with writing Mulan's snark throughout the song. In addition, the lyrics really show how she is thinking less like a warrior and more like a hunter, such as with her analogies to striking vipers or stalking tigers. She has no intention of giving Shang or the army any openings; she's going for the kill right away. And given how she is willing to sacrifice many of the people standing up for this revolution, it shows how right she is when seeing how dark she is like the dark side of the moon.

Quick question: What does Mushu look like in this universe? I imagine as Mulan's ancestral guardian, he tries to lead her down a path of righteousness. But after centuries of being mocked by the other ancestors, he too becomes bitter and seeks revenge... Mulan trains Mushu along with her army and the tiny lizard grows into a massive, fire-breathing monster who can burn down whole cities with ease.

Imagine: The capital receives the warning, and don’t know who is going to strike. They prep around the walls, but don’t realize that their enemy is within China until after the capital city is stormed, weak in its defenses. Shang and the rest of the army hurry back to the capital as fast as they can, but the capital city is already in ruins, all soldiers that had been there are dead or captured, and the emperor is imprisoned. They try to fight against the army, thinking that there had to be someone else that stormed the capital. Surely a bunch of girls couldn’t have taken down the capital, right? They finally make it into the center of the palace, only to make an alarming discovery. Mulan, sitting on the throne, sword in hand, ready to strike. That’s when they realize just how big of a mistake they made… “Hello, Shang.” She says, her voice filled with malice. Right before she runs him through with her sword.

It’s so interesting, her turning, because she views Shang as the bad guy, partly because so many people died (along with her father). But then, in this song, she says “Most of you won’t make it, but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.” Mulan has become as bad as Shang, and will likely be the cause for even more death.

Top 3 favorite lines: 1:19 Taylor Swift moment 2:13: "I'll lose me but I'm taking you too" 3:18 "Forged from the hate of the girl you knew" Mulan becoming a Disney villain in an alternate universe is one of the more believable scenarios in my opinion. Treated like an object by society, giving up everything for her country and still being treated like crap for it, and being betrayed by this dude who acted like she was an appreciated friend and ally. It only takes a few minor tweaks and rewrites to be a believable villain origin story.

You should do Merida turned into a villain! Basic Story: Merida is unable to undo the curse she put on her mother. She feels so much regret that she runs away from the throne and the prince she was forced to marry. Alone in the woods her emotions get the best of her and she plans her refenge: on her father for forcing her to marry, on the witch in the woods for giving her the curse, and on the whole kingdom for everything that has gone wrong in her life. Song: Into The Open Air Edit: Also your songs are so awesome and I have listened to them so many times since I heard the first one!

I love this one! My favorite parts are Mulan’s remarks while reciting Shang’s speech haha. Amazing as always!!

Ok but hear me out: Mulan singing "finally my reflection shows... who I am inside" dramatic orchestra rising as she fully embraces her villainy

I love that fact that you can hear them groan in annoyance as if the mere name brings anger to them (Edit1) and the tiny part where she calls him misogynistic

This is super good!! It would be awesome if you did "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" from Nala's point of view. The backstory could be Nala wants to rule, so she's planning to kill Mufasa and overthrow Simba.

Id love to hear Bell's one! perhaps a blend of her lines from the opening song and the reprise later on. Perhaps in this version gaston killed the beast and forced her to marry him to save her father. Only he doesn't know she will plan her revenge on him and the villagers.

I really like how ... Neutral the ' strong army of Men and Women' bit sounds. It's not 'Men AND woman,' it's said as if it's someone addressing a large group of both (which she is but still). Mulan isn't empathise one gender or the other. She's talking with equal respect to both men and women. She doesn't women to have more power OVER men, she wants them to be equal, to have EQUAL respect

I feel like this song conveyed all the emotions Mulan must have been feeling while singing it, the anger, the betrayal, the sadness, the desperation, and her need for vengeance. This song was perfect!

"I'll lose me. But I'm taking, you too." *shivers* Amazing vocals. I mean, wow

What I like about this one is that Mulan seems to realize at parts that she's turned bad from an initially good person, but doesn't even care. I'd like to imagine that she captures Shang (gotta have some fun with him so she can enjoy her revenge properly) and through a heart-to-heart, some surviving remnant of the heroine comes out, and there's still that happy ending. Unrealistic, yes, but that's just my thoughts.

I think my favorite line dichotomy is "once you find his weakness, we're sure to win." In the original it's Shang talking about "finding your center", to be a soldier in all situations. But here's it's targeted, aggressive, it's not being a soldier but hunting something in particular.

Make a Cinderella villain song! Cinderella is as much as a lovely charcter she's also kinda tragic, like even though she always finds her happiness in the end, she still suffers to get it, in the first movie she was abused by her stepmother after losing both her parents, in the third(second-?) Movie after she finally found her happiness her stepmother steals the magic wound and make Cinderella suffer by replacing her multiple times and even trying to ship her away, So i think that the story for villain Cinderella: after successfully escaping the hell hole of a home she used to live in and find happily ever after the prince turn out to be just as bad as her stepmother, and once he finds out that she's a maid he drops her like a dead fly only for her to be sent back to the hell she first escaped from, and worst her stepmother finally gets someone to get rid of the mice (and they successfully do so), so now left alone in heartbroke and betrayal rella's heart turn into the mockery nickname her stepsisters came up with to make fun of her, cinder. She refuses to sit by and act all nice to only be rewarded with pain as life mocks her and decides after finding the fairy godmother's wound that the people who hurt her and killed the little naive her should be punished severely.

When you know the empress is commonly referred to as "the moon of the empire", the last verse is just magnified ! I loved it ♥

Does anyone else really want to watch movies based around these villain songs? All of these songs have just been amazing in the character work, the singing (I mean, come on), and also the artwork. Having a short film that shows alternate dimensions with each princess meeting with their original selves and explaining what led them to such dark pasts would be enthralling.

I love your music! Especially the Rapunzel villian song. This one was amazing! It would be awesome if you did Waiting in the Wings cover from Tangled the Series, you would be perfect for it

Listening to this, i also was reminded of the huge thing from the ending that a lot of people passed over as kids. Hun armies had men and women. Shan Yu calls her "the warrior from the mountain" and fights her accordingly, not being like "omg you were a Girl the Whole Time?!" It would totally make sense if Mulan had joined the Huns and their cause after being left to die after saving everyone and being revealed as female.

1000% Fantastic Well done!!!! Fun fact- The Huns had female warriors. Because the main weapon of the Hun army were bows, it was possible for women to join the military ranks. So this song works perfectly if the Huns saw the Abandoned and disgraced warrior left to freeze with her horse for the crime of being a female better at tactics and battle then her entire squadron. A woman capable of nearly whipping them off the map would have been Prize to the Huns, the perfect potential bride and Queen. In an Alternative world were Mulan didn't sneak in to warn China but instead accepted the first bit of kindness and acceptance for her combat skills and quick mind. I can very much see this song used as her battle cry.

I like the idea of many people in her army being those who got rejected in their desire to help their country, just like her. Not just men and women who wish for more from life, but people who once admired General Shang, aspired to serve under him as one of his men even. But, just like in Mulan's story, or maybe even BECAUSE of hearing her story, they find that their expectations of this great man have been betrayed, and they take it just as personally as Mulan does. It vibes with the "down with Shang" part, I think.

Can you please do the Mirabel's Villain Song? I imagined the story like : almost the whole movie is the same, but, in the Mirabel and Abuela's fight, Casita stand by her side and give her all the madrigal gifts. So she uses this incredible power to get the family's revenge (even if the others members don't ask for it) Song's name : I'll Give Them a Miracle

Lemme just... Mulan got left in the snow only to be found by Shan Yu. Her story was similar to Gong Li character's, but she also wants the man she liked to notice her. When she says she wants to take him, she wants, deep down, even if she doesn't recognize it yet, to make him a "trophy husband", as that's how he, at the time, would have seen whoever his wife would have been. Her now twisted crush mixed with the real her being rejected, Mulan finally snaps, ready to take down the emperor and become the new empress, upgrading Shang from a trophy husband to a concubine and force him to watch all of China fall under her control.

This feels like a story arc where Mulan is a villain for the right cause. She's in the revolution for the revenge and hatred in her heart for the people that wronged her. While the cause is noble the reason she's a part of it, and what she's willing to do to achieve her goals, are that of a damaged and outraged villain.

The old dynasty lost the Mandate of Heaven. The time has come for a new ruler to take the throne.

My theory on this: In an alternate version of the ambush on the mountain, Shang had managed to strike Shan-Yu down; the huns can only watch in shock as their leader lies dead upon the white snow. Mulan, injured after taking the blow meant for Shang, is given medical attention, and her secret is discovered. But unlike the movie, Shang has no intentions of sparing her. (Yao, Ling, and Chien Po watch with a broken heart as their friend, regardless of her deciet, is about to die). But just as Shang swings his blade down at Mulan, Mushu reveals himself as he springs up from behind Mulan and let's out a blast of fire from his mouth, startling the soldiers and making Shang lose his focus. The sword comes down and strikes the tiny dragon instead of Mulan. Mulan holds the severed remains of her friend as Shang regains his composure. His mind is still trying to piece together what that little dragon was until he realizes that it might've been the guardian of the Fa family. A small ball of pressure forms in Shang's chest after finally realizing what he has done, but he will worry about the consequences of killing a guardian after he finishes his job here. Shang readies his sword again, but this time, Mulan won't stay still. Furious, Mulan springs up and knocks Shang back with a kick. As the captain stumbles backward, Mulan grabs what she can and runs up towards the mountain where the avalanche has settled. Chi-Fu demands for Shang and the soldiers to pursue and finish Mulan off, but he refuses under the impression that the bitter cold will kill her anyway. So Shang and the soldiers leave for home. Up on the mountain, the snow and cold begin to slow Mulan down until she falls onto her knees out of exhaustion. Suddenly, the remaining Huns reveal themselves and surround Mulan. Thinking she's about to be killed, she grimly accepts her fate. But to her surprise, the huns spare her and help Mulan to her feet. They explained that they witnessed Mulan fighting back against Shang and offered her a place among the huns with the promise of revenge against Shang and the Emperor. Mulan wanted to refuse at first, but then the reminder of Shang killing Mushu along with him wanting to kill Mulan came back to her, and she was angry. No longer caring about her family honor, Mulan dons the coat of Shan-Yu and proves herself worthy of leading the huns. The remains of Mushu were fashioned into a necklace for Mulan to always remember her betrayal, and she was going to make everyone pay.

Oh my gosh this was amazing the story behind the song and the song... It's definitely great material for a dark AU and I love it. Excellent work what you did. 💙💙

Please make a villain version of Anastasia. I can only imagine how good once upon a december would sound like that. Nobody could've believed that Anja is actually Anastasia so with all the disapointed and false hope she has she turns against Demitri and house Romanoff. At first it seems like she would be helping Rassputin, but at the end she betrays him and steals his magic to get revenge on anyone who ever used her

To be perfectly honest, this immediately made me think of that one-line mention of a bandit army led by a female bandit in the Three Kingdoms texts. This could easily fit a more generous interpretation of her. Zheng Jiang I believe.

It doesn't help that the villain recognized her as a soldier and not only a woman later. Plus didn't underestimate her

I don't know if you've done one yet, but I think one for Belle would be cool! Story: Gaston gets the mirror, kills the beast, and chains her father up until she agrees to marry him. She isn't allowed to read, but has a secret library where she hatches her plan. She's gonna kill Gaston and rule over the town in the prince's old castle with the townsfolk as her servants. Song: (Remix of) A Guy Like Gaston or Something There That Wasn't There Before.

Woah this sounds so epic and give me goosebumps in a good way, really give off that powerful soldier's song vibes in it from a strong willed leader one can definitely feels stronger and courageous for the war they're going to battle in despite her twisted motivation but who can blame her?

Nice, weirdly my brain went to that Harry Potter variant I spent time tinkering with wording on a while back... "Be A Mage," basically the DA singing about taking down the Death Eaters, each chorus actually used different wording, with like one comparing to the Houses, one to creatures, one to other wizards and witches (from lines ranging from "with all the force of a basilisk's gaze" to a "mysterious as a master occlumens" and even a "loyal as Dobby the Elf"). (with a note to make it sound like they were flying away uncontrollably). This was before I started doing such musings on Google Docs so I'm not sure where it is...

TO THIS DAY I always wanted more songs for Mulan; a villain song by Shan Yu (or just by his team) would've been phenomenal. I didn't expect you to cover this song as her (I expected a twisted version of "Reflection"), but it's so fun to see your interpretations!

Cool idea have the guys also have some sort of villain type ark like if chien po dies then maybe ling and yao choose between joining Mulan or Shang. Or even better one of them joins Mulan and the other joins Shang both being like right hand men so in the final fight we see each character fighting someone they considered a friend.

That was brilliantly done. You know now that I think about it I'd really like to see animated movies of your alternate heroines turned villains, that'd be a change of pace...

her story is literally the definition of the line "sometimes to do some good you've gotta be the bad guy"

Plot idea (keep in mind while i got good imagination im not the best at writing a hero as a villain and mulan was my childhood so its hard to imagine her as evil or the bad guy) She gets cut down after being discovered while mushu and cricket are trying to keep her alive who pops out of the snow like daisies?? Thats right the huns minus their general that spiteful dude is dead (Before continuing id like to note the huns did have female warriors in there military and female generals) The huns general recognize her as the warrior who caused them to loose and some took note she traveled through the ongoing avalanche to save her military general Somthing they admit takes a lot of strength, courage and loyalty to achieve They also recognize the only reason she is on her death bed is because of a sword wound They put two and two together with their knowledge of how their enemies military works mushu confirms their conclusion and convinces them to help her on the premises of how satisfying for China to be brought down by one of its unspoken heroes So they take mulan to be healed and convinces her to become their new leader (Might be a stretch for a story to some since she did single handedly destroy their army But they have a weird sense of respect for her because of that) So they start recruiting the men AND women of China in secret People who are itching for change or just a chance Including three certain princesses being married off along with three men that mulan served with who wanted to step in during her discovery Let me tell you when lee shang was helping move the princesses only to be taken down by a familiar young woman he thought died by his hand that he may even say he loved He be shook! Now lets move to a regret filled man who would do anything to go back in time to do or say somthing different to his late daughter So when he hears word she is not only alive but taken on the forces of china and he is being called in to fight her what does he do? He says heck no to fighting her and makes moves to support her Her parents pack up to look for her leaving her grandmother in charge while they find their daughter They reunited and everything feels like things withen the small family look like its going to be just fine Until it wasn't and her family was killed for betrayal against china and shamed And now mulan is understandably pissed and looking for bood filled vengeance and the inner circle she's gained as well as the army and sort of community she has made (both canon and oc) are right behind her Things get messy and a lot happened but in the end her forces win The king and subordinates are executed (some who had a direct hand on her familys murder get a particularly brutal execution) And the dragon empress now sits on the throne (Cant figure out what to do with shang because there are so many fates he could have) (I could see him being regretful and wanting to redeem himself in the eyes of mulan since in this timeline he still loved her dispite her feelings for him being sour post being cut down like she was nothing) (Like her efforts and actions meant nothing dispite literally saving china) (If it went that route shang better be ready to cry because mulan has changed after her family's death) (Angst and world domination a head)

I would like it if you make Anna into a villain like you suggested in that vote. I even got a story line. Story: Anna is tired of always being the lest liked sister and being in Elsa's shadow. She had to be forced to be behind the doors because her sister couldn't handle her own powers and hid like a coward. Instead of Elsa making the decision of opening the gates, it was Anna. Elsa couldn't open them sooner and Anna was sick of it. Now she is the next queen because of the delay of Elsa (Anna killed Elsa). Anna is now for the first time in forever seeing the gates open. She let herself an opened door of choices to make the kingdom her image, not Elsa's. She is driven mad in power and will take anything it takes to to collect even more... The Song: Love is an open door (if you add Hans, he could be join forces with Anna because they have the same image, having power not love ) Edit: SHE MADE ANNA'S VILLAIN SONG!!!! I'M SO HAPPY

"I'll loose me, but I'm taking you too" If ANYONE ever does an animatic this would be a perfect scene to do a reflection with Mulan in the river as she sings this and then Shang appears and they both just fade as they're mostly both going to perish in war.

You should do only second-rate from Return of Jafar. There aren’t that many covers of it and I think your voice would sound amazing with it. (To be fair, your voice will sound good no matter what you choose)
