Hey John, I'm located in houston ,tx and i like your videos their very informational. i myself have been pondering over getting into this type off business down here but i'm not sure how to charge per the jobs Also any pointers on the business period would be appreciated. I was wondering if you would share with me your pricing model, if that's not intruding too much. i'm an avid outdoors man and there's tons of work in the south that would keep this thing busy from deer leases, under brush clearing as you do, etc. Wishing you continuing success with your business and your awesome crew! thanks in advance!

This is my third time watching this video. And the thing I always notice is just how intelligent Josh and Willie are. They make good decisions on the job and handle the equipment with great care. As their boss, I give you credit for creating an atmosphere that allows them the independence to be themselves. In other words, you’re no micromanager, hovering over every move they make like a mother hen. You operate more like a team than boss and employees. I loved watching Josh moving that stump over for you to mulch. He showed just how well he understands how that Bobcat works and how to get the best out of it. Kudos to you all.

That "flush with the ground" is going to come back to bite 'em! I had a big cedar tree cut down in my front yard and they did that trick. A year or so later what was left had gradually been brought to the top as the earth settled and one good set of mower blades was the cost. It looked flush but the earth was soft by then and the mower just sank right down on top of the residue. BLANG! There went the blades! I had that thing ground completely down so it wouldn't bite me again like that.

Nice follow up to the first video. When I first began watching I was intrigued and began watching other mulching videos. Yet none of them captured the magic, the chemistry that you guys had going. Your narration is excellent - informative without becoming pedantic. And the chemistry between you, Josh and Willie is priceless. I even like your choice of the ASV, and I’m an old Caterpillar man. In case you're worried about hitting the teeth when you're using the hatchet, a battery operated sawzall would work good for cutting out pieces like that. Milwaukee makes 2 one handed types called a Hack-zall, in either 12v or 18v, brushless (Fuel model) and regular which is a little cheaper but still good for random use like this.

You will have to help me understand why ripping the 2x10s down to 7.5”. First, a 2x8 is 7.25” wide, not 7.5. Only reason they didn’t use 2x10 originally was cost, $$$. Now you have a board that has a full edge ripped, lost a lot of the value of treated wood unless you applied a new coat of protectant. But, great video, most interesting content, and business venture. I know it is hard work but at the end of the day you can let your pride show. WELL DONE 👍 By the way, spent most of my career in wood products, making lumber.

archie ball It’s one hell of a machine because of the way John operates it. Note that all the guys operate their equipment with the greatest of care. No cowboys at Upstate Brush Control. And that’s how to avoid long stretches of down time.

Yes, we did. It was about 3' long. It was a stake for when they planted the Leeland Cyprus there.

Oddly satisfying! Enjoyed it! Wonder if that metal rod is a survey marker or corner property stake!

How do you keep the machine safe from rocks when you’re mulching an overgrown area where you can’t see what’s underneath? What would happen if you hit a large rock 🪨

Amazing machinery, I wish you could clean a park near my house filled with nasty honeysuckle bushes, too bad it's county land though, the overgrowth makes the forest look terrible.

Why not cut it flush with a saw, then mulch it. less wear an tear on the cutters.

The people who make the gimbled cameras need to add some sort of sensor so they can tell how far away that which its following is. Thefarther the thing you want to follow is the less it should move or at least have some sort of feed bad loop to notice you aren't trying to leave frame

Another great job, man a few of those stumps were really really hard... bog down your machine big time, You have a great eye man i didn't even see that metal until you got up close to it. wow that piece was really stuck in there.. Thanks for all of the videos you do, I really enjoy them a lot, I can just dream about having someone like you come over and clean up our property one day. I know doing videos takes time away from your work so appreciate you doing them. I do rc videos so i understand the work that goes into them.
