Mulholland Highway
Santa Monica Mountains / Los Angeles
Episode 89
Mulholland Highway is a 30 mile stretch of scenic road that starts in Woodland Hills and extends to its westernmost point at Leo Carrillo State Park on the Pacific Coast Highway. Wholly contained within Los Angeles County, the scenic byway was formally opened in 1928.
Running East to West along the spine of the Santa Monica Mountains via Mulholland Highway we start this trip just East of Las Virgenes Road (03:40). We take a brief detour onto Kanan Road (13:55) so we can pass through the tunnels and then hop back onto Mulholland Highway headed East (19:25). At the (39:10) mark we can start to see the Pacific Ocean peeking out in the distance as we descend the Santa Monica Mountains to Malibu and the pacific coastline.
