Hi,, noticed when you did your Gm test you never did tube 4,, you did tube 3 twice.

this brings up old memories. the lower current could mean a better tube. the higher the current usually shorter life. the coating on the cathode is thicker so they lower the current the life will be longer. I serviced equipment like this when tubes / valves were the going thing

Personally i never buy used gear. Things may cost more but i prefer the warranties on gear plus things are fresh and pristine.

The seller may not of known that tube was different. You are correct though and should at least get a partial refund.

I bought 4 Russian EL34 last month. They were not a matched set when I purchased. They all tested within 4ma of each other . They sound great. And I paid $16 each. I just don't know what fuss is about.

A refund for the tube doesn't get you a matching quad like you paid for however. I'd go for a proper matching tube.
